Joe the Plumber is in the news today, and he sure doesn’t seem to be making an impression. He says he’s appalled at some things he found out while on the road with McCain. He also thinks Palin is “The Real Deal”. Not that I take his opinion seriously at all…but its good for a chuckle, sort of.
Y’know, most McCain supporters that I know, including myself, thought the bailout was a huge mistake. Still do, actually. Is this news to you? I’ll even go one further and say that John McCain would be President-elect today if he had vigorously opposed the bailout and campaigned hard on the issue.
Hindsight is 20/20. I also oppose the bailout. McCain was not a conservative candidate.
I wonder…if Rush Limbaugh hadn’t pushed Operation Chaos, would McCain have been the candidate? I wonder how many votes that might have got to Romney or Huckabee got siphoned off to Clinton.
We’ll never know, I guess.
There’s nothing wrong with the opinion that the bailout was a bad idea (it might’ve been, it might not’ve been - we’ll see), but Joe the Plumber is still a moron. I would be PISSED if a campaign I supported championed such a douche.

McCain already had the nom sewn up before Limbaugh started that “Operation Chaos” routine.
Limbaugh was urging his audience to register as Democrats in the primaries and vote for Hillary as a means to prolong the process and supposedly cause division in the parties.
You righties sure are quick to throw a guy under the bus. Just a few weeks ago, McCain was an America hero without peer. Now he’s shit on your shoes.

Ahh. Thanks Dio. I’d heard of that movement (is that what I should call it?), but not the name of it.
My fiancee and I were visiting family in the Toledo area over Thanksgiving and discovered that we were only about 10 minutes away from Joe the Plumber’s house. We were pretty bored on Black Friday so we decided to go past his place.
It was a small yellow house… He had a big light-up nativity set in his front yard, the front door was wide open, and there were several cars out front. Oh, and a home across the street and down a couple had the biggest Obama/Biden sign I’ve ever seen… at least 8 feet high.
We thought later that it would be really funny to steal the baby Jesus from Joe the Plumber’s nativity set, and that we might even make it onto Countdown, but then we realized that we were grown-ups and decided against the idea.
