Johnny Depp suprises primary school with pirate mutiny!

I thought this was a really cool story. Dressed as Jack Sparrow he visited a primary school in London to suprise a 9 year old girl who had written to Jack Sparrow asking for help to form a mutiny against the teachers. He was filming nearby when -

Delivered to the film crew by Pat, ‘from the school office’, the letter was quickly forgotten about. However, the letter did indeed reach the right hands. Days later, and with only 10 minutes warning of Johnny Depp’s arrival, the teachers found themselves quickly frog-marching the kids into Meridian primary school’s main hall for a special assembly, which Captain Jack Sparrow and four of his crew members duly invaded!

My wife works in the building they’re using for filming PotC4 at the moment. Depp gave her a personal “thumbs-up” the other day as she was watching him out an upper window (thrill!) and has occasionally mingled with the college students on site, but his minders have been keeping the general public at bay most of the time and he gets whisked off after filming, apparently to his house in France.

The cast in general have been nice (says the wife). The film crew…not so much. And they’ve got 30 horses running around lately which is a whole other mess.
