Here are the facts:
Tuesday, November 26 - ate real meal
Wednesday, November 27 - ate a milkshake only
Thursday, November 28 - colon cleansing & nothing but ginger ale all day
Friday, November 29 - (surgery) no foods OR liquids of any kind. Used a wet sponge to moisten my tongue.
Saturday, November 30 - present - clear liquids, occassional sherbet, tomato soup, yogurt. I had a few spoons of cream of wheat today.
In a day or two I will try to eat something pureed or soft and then slowly begin adding a “real” food item one at a time, one a day.
So far, I haven’t even passed gas since Thanksgiving.
So… get your bets in! when will I … feel that special urge?
I’m not going to place any bets, but I’m glad you are doing so well. A friend of mine had the same operation on Tuesday the 26th, and he was thinking of going to a movie on the 30th! He’s making the same kind of progress as you are with the food. He’s got you beat in the pass/gas thing. I guess that happened at the hospital.
Travesty of poor taste? It was actually meant more as a joke.
I’m not at all surprised that those particular two moderators (who are my biggest fans) are not thrilled, but I would have thought that other people would have realized that I was just being silly.
