So, how long before they’re out of business, or will people keep signing up and paying?
You don’t say.
If there is one thing of which I am tolerably certain in this increasingly uncertain world, it is that Charlie Brown is never going to get to kick that football Lucy is holding for him.
This is a great paragraph from that article:
Oh and
Pathetic.
I don’t think a website founded on the premise of affair facilitation was concerned about ethics. They probably felt justified scamming the paid male customers. I don’t know. Whole thing is strange.
For comment, we now take you live to our field reporter, Nelson Muntz.
And they don’t have to worry about anyone suing them for fraud. No one is going to publicly complain about their business practices. A perfect scam. But I’m actually shocked that so many men signed up for this. Is it that hard to find someone to have an affair with these days?
I guess it is. AM “guaranteed” a discrete affair. Trying to troll for your own affair would be a very risky activity plus it seems like a lot of work, AM supposedly did all that work for you.
Right, the idea of the website makes sense. Having an affair with someone from work or someone else you know, you risk other people finding out about it. You could look for people on regular dating sites, but maybe worry about people you know seeing you. Or you think that AM will be easier to use and more direct rather than the flirting and back and forth of women looking for relationships on other sites. AM did do some advertising, and probably got some word of mouth advertising from people talking about it and how outrageous it is that there’s a website like that.
It was a well set up scam though, especially things like the “affair guarantee”, because who is going to sue for their money when they didn’t have an affair like promised? But I’m sure that some people will sue now that their information wasn’t deleted when AM said it would be deleted. There’s no harm in suing now if your name is already out there.
Huh. I always thought it was a covert prostitution ring. And now it turns out not even that was going on?
Well, people paid them money and got screwed…
zing!
It may not have intentionally been a scam - the company, early on, may have thought that it would work and they’d get women on the site.
It must have become one pretty soon, though. It’s almost impressive how many people must have been involved, and yet nobody spilled before now.
From the reaction I’m seeing online, the leg-humpers are having a harder time explaining this away. It was easy for them to say “Aww he was just a kid when he touched his sisters” This seems to be different to them. For me, him touching his sisters is way worse than him cheating on his wife. But, after all, I am just a godless heathen. What do I know.
Sam Lowry:
Now that the data’s been publicly posted and the would-be-secretive-ones have been exposed, they might get called to account for that.
It’s also possible that (unbeknownst to us) the ones who paid for the “affair guarantee” do get a prostitute hired on the sly by AM, but they don’t have actual accounts on the site.
With the molesting thing it was easy to say that Josh was simply a sexually curious boy who repented and went on to become an upstanding husband and father. There’s just no way to defend this kind of religious hypocrisy.
Even People Magazine, which has been working with the Duggars the last few years, did a total 180 on them in the latest issue. It exposes their patriarchy, sexual repression and wife-blaming. This family is done.
I think what’s done is having people try and pretend they are good people. I don’t think what’s done is the mockery they have earned and deserve. At least I hope not. I’ve been having them shoved down my throat as fabulous souls rather than the completely dreadful American Taliban they are for about a decade. I want to see them mocked in the public square for at least a few years. I want to see at least a few of the Duggar kids walk away from their parents and call them out for all the shitty things the parent have done to them – the neglect, the lack of a decent education, the religious brainwashing, the attempt to force sexism down their throats.

Why wait, you’re obviously itching to wreck a train somehow or other.
Man I hope so. There is nothing but the stench of rottenness coming out of this family. And it all started at the top.
Nope, that left the station already. No train wrecks this time.
