Further analysis shows the % of male users closer to 99%, or higher.
Hilariously, further analysis of the leaked Ashley Madison accounts indicates that out of the 35 million accounts, it’s likely that only about 12,000 were genuine women seeking men.
When hacker group Impact Team released the Ashley Madison data, they asserted that “thousands” of the women’s profiles were fake. Later, this number got

It’s worth noting that those 12,108 <paid_delete> women’s accounts may represent the only true number we’ve got for women who used the site. After all, paying to delete an account is a sure sign of activity, though of course it’s evidence of disengagement rather than the amorous engagement that Ashley Madison promised.
Overall, the picture is grim indeed. Out of 5.5 million female accounts, roughly zero percent had ever shown any kind of activity at all, after the day they were created.
The men’s accounts tell a story of lively engagement with the site, with over 20 million men hopefully looking at their inboxes, and over 10 million of them initiating chats. The women’s accounts show so little activity that they might as well not be there.

Well gawd dang, if my hubs ever kicks the bucket I’m opening another profile. It’s like a guranteed free pick your flavor buffett for women. I was scared by the almost instant attention for the one day I was on there it chased me off. Thank goodness though, I would have made a huge mistake, and it would have been easy apparently.

Yeah, you could have the best unfaithful, untrustworthy man in the world.

It’s not like she’s gonna go there looking for a spouse. If the sex is good, and that’s what you’re looking for, does it matter how faithful or trustworthy he is?

Heh. I’m an atheist scumbag and Josh Duggar is getting more than me.
Unprotected sex with a professional sex worker? I hope someone urges Josh’s wife to get checked out.
I’m sure anything she catches would be considered just punishment for her failure as a wife. :sarcasm:
Shit, and I thought this story couldn’t get any worse.

I’m still waiting for the other shoe to drop. (I know… he’s already had more than two, but I still think there are more that are going to drop.)

If you want to pit yourself, you’ll get more attention if you open your own thread.
He could give Imelda Marcos a run for her money.

Seriously. AM isn’t a dating site, it’s a hook up facilitator.

At least that’s what it pretends to be.
Not even that, its a con job on the horny, desperate and gullible.

True, but it’s free for women, so it isn’t a con on all people. Just looks like men were conned.
Gawker looked at the porn girl’s story and pointed out a lot of discrepencies, like how he would have driven two states, met with her, then driven back to Arkansas in order to post a picture where he was with his family. And so on.
That is, 99% of their customers, or 100% of those who actually paid, yes? Wouldn’t normally be considered ethical business practice with those figures.

Yeah, of course they say that. But in analyzing the results of the info dumps, it seems like the user base is about 85% male.
Also, AM hired people to make fake female profiles and flirt with the men. They were upfront about it. They called those sorts of accounts “Angels” and claimed the point was just to make the men feel welcome and playful. Of course, the men have to pay to flirt with these fake accounts, but apparently enough of them are happy to do so.
Apparently there were pretty close to Zero real women “using” the site:

It was a scam.
