Journeyman fans...season finale on tonight, 12/19

Is it the series finale? :frowning:

Only time will tell. savejourneyman.net is asking fans to send boxes of Rice-A-Roni to NBC…hey, it worked with Jericho and peanuts.

It’s already been cancelled, hasn’t it?

A deadline was missed to renew the show…whether or not that means it’s gone, or they may try to pick it up later, I don’t know.

I’m glad you posted this… I would have tried to watch it next week. What were your thoughts on Monday’s episode? I thought it had some good and bad elements. Best was the lingerie :), worst was the sister-in-law/psychic “special birthday” thing. Or did I miss another thread on that ep?

I have it on tape…I figure I’ll watch it back to back with tonight’s.

That was our plan as well…

Well, what I posted so far shouldn’t spoil anything for you. Sorry about that.

I wonder if a cable channel might pick it up… I hope so.

IIRC, NBC owns the cable channel most likely to pick it up, Sci-Fi, so if they didn’t renew production at all, it probably doesn’t bode well. (I believe NBC also owns USA – the network, not the country…yet, and JM wouldn’t have been a bad fit there either.)

Stupid NBC and shows I like…

I think it would do very well on Sci-Fi.

It’d really be a shame if it fades into obscurity… I thought Monday’s episode was great (especially when he discovered the consequences of his initial trip to the past). It was also nice to get some more clues about what is causing the time travelling.

And of course, Livia in her lingerie was a big treat.

I watched Monday. I thought I would give it one more try. This was the one with his son now being a daughter.

I just didn’t like it.

I notice the ratings were weak and got weaker each week. They are especially dismal in the 18-49 share.

NBC has done nothing to disrupt this show and worked extra hard to push it. This includes the Pilot DVDs being available in Blockbuster and available On Demand before the first air date. That is how I saw it. I don’t think the show’s failure can be blamed on NBC.

It just didn’t find enough of an audience. They are planning to show the existing shows on the Sci-Fi channel, so maybe if they can slash the budget enough, Sci-Fi will pick it up if it shows a strong cult following on Sci-Fi. Apparently “Dead Like Me” is returning from the ‘Dead’ for this reason.

Jim

Wow. Good episode. Simultaneously made me sad that it was ending and also made me think “not a bad series finale either.”

sigh

Yep. Sad to see it go. I thought the last half of the season was particularly intriguing and interesting, especially the last two eps.

I’m still hoping against hope. I’m naïve that way.

On the other hand, it followed Clash of the Choirs. or some shit. Ugh.

what you said.

I’m betting that there is no way the Sci-Fi channel has the budget for a show with lots of location shots in San Francisco. Maybe everyone will move to another city somewhere (do they film in Vancouver anymore now that the Canadian dollar is whipping the American dollar’s ass)?

Yep, not a terrible series finale, although it certainly left a lot of questions open. I hope it gets picked up by someone; but then again I’m still hoping that Joan of Arcadia gets picked up and I’m starting to think that might not happen.

This show was probably my favorite new show since Lost. Its a shame to see it go. Lets hope whenever real tv comes back from the abyss that NBC gives it another try.

I kept delaying watching it, because I knew it could be the end.

The nanotechnology was very cool. I figured there’d be some repercussions to killing the head of security, but I guess not.

Interesting that Langley knows what’s going on, but not about Livia. I thought the scene with Dan and Livia at the end, where she says it could be awhile before they saw each other again, was very poignant, given the circumstances.

And Katie finally saw Dan “travel.”

What the heck does her sister do for a living? I kind of got the idea she was in some sort of high-level government job.

Here’s hoping NBC brings it back.
