SUPPERTIME!!! That’s all - it’s suppertime!
Sadlly, no brownies in my house…
Skimmed, went back in time to wish merry holidays to all.
It was good to see ye olde SpazFamily. The dog was even happy to see me. I petted her without complaint because I so rarely see her.
Then I come back to work today and find out I was supposed to work Sunday. I left a rant in the workplace griping thread about that. A couple of people need to be reminded that my phone does receive calls, especially work calls.
There’s supposed to be cold white stuff on the ground tonight. This ought to be interesting. It was snowing in the High Boondocks area earlier this afternoon and raining here. That means there will also be ICE!
You mean it’s Suppertime!
Show of hands everybody who believes MOOOOOOM is dancin’ around FairyChatEstate and singin’ this.
I will admit, I was thinking about that song. Personal trivia - You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown was the first professional bit of theater I ever saw. It was back in the olden days when you could see a touring company at the Morris Mechanic Theater in Baltimore for about $8 for the Saturday matinee. I saw a lot of shows that way - I’d work in the morning, grab a quick lunch, then head to the Mechanic, and take the bus home afterwards. I think today the Ticketmaster fees are higher than $8… * <sigh>*
You’re a good partner, bear.
My husband cringes when I enter a bookstore or craft store with anything negotiable in my possession.
I find dollar stores and thrift stores interesting myself. Nice treasure hunt.
Why I prefer unmarked company vehicles:
Driving on South Dakota Ave in the rain, I look into my right mirror then merge into the right lane. Behold, a car was over there, behind me a bit, without it’s lights on. I didn’t see it but was in no danger of hitting it. They lay on their horn in protest.
Whatever.
At the next stoplight they pull up beside me and roll down their window. What the hell, I’ll play along.
I roll down my window. Guy yells “Don’t you know how to drive, jackass!?!?”
I ponder that a moment, then look his car up and down. I respond -
“Is that a new car ya got there?”
“Sure is!”
“Too bad the FUCKING HEADLIGHTS DON’T WORK!”
Startled, he looks at his dash, turns on his headlights and rolls up his window without another word.
Fucker.
Hey, that is pretty special in Memphis. Anything but and ice storm!!!
Plus I have lived in Alaska and Utah, so I’ve seen plenty of snow in my lifetime
Stoopit moderate weather; it’s upper 30°s, maybe 41 in some areas, with wind gusts into the 40mph range. We’re getting one to two inches of rain. 10° cooler & we’d be having a good-ole-fashioned-stay-home-for-two-days blizzard. Damn!
Got home & got the mail; there’s a piece that’s obviously either an invite or a thank you note, addressed to ‘The Spiderman Family’. Inside is a very lovely hand written thank you note addressed to people I don’t know & from people I don’t know thanking us/them for the lovely Xmas gift.
Or is this the latest kraze…random thank you notes? :dubious:
My BFF took me to get a 1 hr prenatal massage today. She was in town for a few days to visit family and I only gt a few hours with her. I am sad she leaves tomorrow afternoon and I probably won’t see her again for another 2 years
Santa always seems to misdirect a gift or two at our house. Yesterday we had a couple from Great Uncle Ronald and Great Aunt Millicent to “Monty, Gilianne & the kids”. These always get handed to my wife to open under the law of “finders, keepers”. Amazingly, they always end up being something we would both enjoy, like a favourite movie on DVD :D.
How can you get a prenatal massage? You’ve already been born!
Clever VBob
I just got home from the ER. There’s something funny going on with my leg. It’s possible that I might have a blood clot so I’m going back in the morning for an ultrasound (they only do them until 6:30 or so at night). Wheeee! :dubious:
Had a good day today, spreading the goodness, take as needed
Cheers and goodnight Delta watch
Jim
Do we now have a suspicious number of Canadian Mumpers or what?
If by “suspicious number” you mean 1, then yes.
According to that logic, there is also a suspicious number of Limeys, Spaniards and Middle-Easterns(!! OMG  !!) here
(BTW, we used to have more Canadians; up to 3 regulars at once a while back!!;))
**Sticks **-- hope they can figure out what’s with your leg!
Happy Thursday, everyone! Only ~9 more hours until the weekend, for me (then again, I get to enjoy Monday on Sunday, and then Monday on Monday again…)
I told you you needed to rest.
Derpy dog woke me up early, but I’ve been worried about him anyway. He perked up after I gave him 2 baby aspirin but then he got all sickly looking again so I had to give him 2 more.
He just needed to go out and when that blast of cold air hit me it woke me right up.
I bought him some new treats yesterday, stinky salmon ones, his favorite flavor.
I didn’t even pick up my dirty clothes, I let him have them because he seemed so unhappy and droopy yesterday.
I should have gone grocery shopping yesterday, the parking lots were almost empty but carrying in lots of bags in the snow isn’t much fun. So sah-kid got off easy because he’s the one who carries them all in.
The snow is all gone now.
Sah-kid asked a classmate for her phone number so between the other friend (she has a bf) and this new girl he’s ‘busy’. He ‘says’ they are just friends but we’ll see. I’m just happy he is coming out of his shell.
Oh and I forgot to say, my ex-bil with the pancreatic cancer looks really good. Maybe a little thinner than before, but he looks good.
I made out like a bandit for Christmas, including a big bag of Godiva chocolates from sah-kid. I got him giant reeses’ cups, each one weighs a half pound! He’s not a big chocolate eater but he loves his peanut butter cups.
Time to go back to bed, another busy day of running.
Two more days of piddle pup, one more day of HH cat.
Up, caffeinated, off to irk.
Hope it’s nothing serious, Sticks
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 38 Amurrkin with a predicted high of 55 and sunny. Winter in south Jawja.
StickyBuns hope they find out what’s wrong with your leg soonest. Stay off it as much as you can ok?
Bookie LTNS!
Sari glad the bil is better. Yay for sahkid!
gigity a lot of folks around heah don’t know how vehicle headlights work.
Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, alas, irk purtification must commence. Should be another quiet day.
Happy Thursday Y’all!
