Joy To The World! There's A New MMP!

Hiya, CatDude! What’s shakin’??

My Godiva Fairy remains a mystery. My initial guess was wrong. Who can my secret admirer be??

No blood clots in my leg. No other real explanation, either. I surmise that walking up 7 flights of stairs the other night wasn’t the best idea I’ve ever had. Guess I just wait for it to quit hurting on its own.

I am so, so tired right now but I have to take my grandparents to the beauty shop and out to N.O.L. I have already eaten if it tells you how much I like the restaurant that we’re going to.

StickyBuns glad it’s not a blod clot. Here’s hopin’ your laig is ok soonest.

Howdy CatDude!

Howdy everybody from da cave. I don’t know what I want for dindin. Thinkin’ I might go get a burger. I kinda got a hankerin’ for one.

mmmmmmm - I wanna burger, too! Be a dear and grab one for me, swampy! No pickles, and grilled onions instead raw. Thanks ever so…

Well, I finally figured out who kept calling me from the 703 area code - WETA TV wanted money from me, but from the script the woman was reading, I was apparently on a donors list. I’ve never given to WETA. I have nothing against them, they’re just not one of my chosen causes. Here’s hoping the calls will stop. I hate when people call repeatedly but won’t leave a message.

We’ll be going to look at granite samples tomorrow - there are two suppliers between DC and Baltimore within a few miles of each other, so that’ll work out great. Yay!

But things are slow on I-95 north and my sweetie doesn’t think he’ll be here till after 8. BOO! I figured today would be a no-traffic day - who travels on Thursday??? Too many people, apparently. :frowning: Guess I’ll have time to go out for my own burger. Alone. By myself. <deep sad sigh>

If I could taste anything right now a burger from 5 Guys sounds like heaven.

I am apparently having homemade burgers for supper tonight.

Still completely snowed in.

Howdy all

I don’t understand why but weird, unexpected things keep happening to me lately. Today I got a friend request on FB from an old partner in crime I hadn’t heard from in a decade or more. Sure Jimi you can be my FB pal. He immediately sends me a message, he has the master tape of the first album I ever played on, 25 years ago. So guess who is about to put out a classic album? I have to go find the right tape machine, this will be fun.

Odd but cool

Jim

It’s cold and there are suspicious clouds hovering overhead. Also, some dillweed has parked so I can’t get into my space. Debating whether I’m going to move my car when they finally move theirs. Depends on the coldness outside and the dryness of my hair.

I love that I had a good three inches hacked off my hair on Monday and to date only three people at work have noticed I had a haircut.

Bein’ the gourmand that I am, I got a burger from Hardee’s. Good bacon-cheese thick burger with fries. YUM!

taking my cue from Man With a Cat

Hi everyone!

Mooom you say WETA and all I can see in my head is this! My youngest daughter is a big fan of Australia, which is the only reason I know this thing exisits.:dubious::stuck_out_tongue:

Howdy wiki!

 Big, ugly, oogy bug!

McD’s here.
I want some pork chops.

Yoiks!! That’s one big bug! If I have nightmares, I’m hunting you down!! :stuck_out_tongue: I’m sure you’ve guessed that WETA is one of our local PBS TV stations.

Still waiting for my sweeties to get home - I’m going to call them shortly. The house is more or less presentable. I called my mom and talked to her for a while, then used the JoAnn’s gift cards she gave to to order (surprise) yarn! I think I need to quit buying it for a while now.

I’m starting to feel hungry, but I don’t feel like going out. Maybe I can get my sweetie to hit a drive-thru on his way home. hmmmmmmmm

Evenin’!

Just got back from Oop North- what was a 5 hour drive on the way up stretched to an exhausting 7 and a half stop-and-start-slog on the return, hence I am somewhat sleepy.

Glad to see you lot behaved yourselves while I was away in the wilds with no internet -my parents think they might have wi-fi, but aren’t sure, and have never tried to use it. I didn’t even try this year.

I am now the proud owner of more chocolate than one person can reasonably eat, and a worrying amount of Baileys Irish Cream. I think I must be difficult to buy for, 'cos pretty much everyone got me the above. I would post chocolate offerings, but I don’t have any of your addresses
You ain’t having the Baileys though, even if I do have enough to fill a bucket.

Dad’s present, somewhat mysteriously, has still not appeared- I was expecting a reproachful note from the postie when I got back, but nope. I did manage to find a bottle of decent whisky on the way down as a replacement, and I’m sure the original order will show up by his birthday in May, so it’s not a disaster.

After all my fussing over getting pressies for my cousin’s kids, they’re staying at their other grandparents’ until after new year, rather than staying at home and visiting my Aunt’s house, like I was expecting- my Mum forgot to tell me their plans had changed until I got there. Oh well, I’m sure I’ll get to see 'em soon, and I doubt the babbeh will mind missing me.

Anyway, I’s tired, so g’night.

Wetas are endemic to New Zealand- not Australia- yes I know I was going to bed, but I have to be biologically accurate! :stuck_out_tongue:

I am very happy to hear it’s not a blood clot. Back in 2008 when I broke my femur I ended up with “10-15” blood clots in my leg. I got to enjoy the rat poison for 9 months, and I prefer compression underwear to this day (not a fan of dying, don’t ya know.)

Good on you for having it checked out.
In other news, I didn’t mention that within a few minutes of exchanging words with a driver on the ride into work yesterday I was also hit by another car. Frankly it wasn’t worth mentioning - the guy swung into my lane trying to get around a box truck and clipped my passenger rear quarter panel. On his 2012 Toyota Highlander he probably did $800 - $1000 worth of damage. On my 1999 Suburban, after I was able to determine which dent was the freshest and thus most likely his, I figured it will be another part of the asthetic atmosphere of my truck.

We exchanged information (as we are supposed to) and I bid him good day. I figured he could go fix his damage, and we would ignore mine.

Today HR gets all up in arms about my accident (which I had yet to officially report up our chain of command) because of course, yonder silly man has claimed - you guessed it - its my fault.

Now let me remind you, gentle readers, that my venerable chariot is, for lack of a better term, an asshole magnet. In the greater DC area I am considered fair game for the cut-in-front-of-you-and-jam-my-brakes crowd. Problem is this truck tips the scales at just below 10,000 lbs and it doesn’t stop on a dime. So for self protection I have dash cameras.

Two of them.

One is a low quality, run all the time, endless looping, cover my ass type camera. The second records to a hard drive broadcast quality video whenever I remember to roll it.

Sooo, a half hour after our company insurance rep called me with questions he found himself looking at a 30 second clip that prooves I stayed within my lane and did not cause the accident.

That was easy.

$50 on eBay folks. Everyone should own one.

The only thing I need to do now is learn Russian, 'cause all the good YouTube crash videos seem to be from Russia and I want to learn to cuss like they do, to keep up with the theme.

i’m still sick :frowning:

My fambly is back in Merrylande!! WOOHOO!!! They should be here in about 10 minutes - close to 15 hours on the road today… poor babies…

Fun with photo editing, I made my hair look really red

Still snowed in today. I may attempt to venture into town tomorrow, but who knows what the buses will be like with all the snow we’ll still have.
