Judge Moore removed from office!

I heard he’s off to teach creationism in the public schools.

hell (no pun intended), this man will be the president of the U.S. of A. someday.

No, but I could easily see him being elected governor of Alabama.

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (AP) - Saudis on Thursday heeded their king’s call and prayed for rainfall, and a leading cleric blamed its scarcity on the sins of the desert state’s citizens. Noting seasonal rains were late, Kind Fahd on Saturday urged fellow Saudis to perform a special prayer for rain this week. Saudi’s top Muslim cleric, Grand Mufti Sheik Abdul-Aziz bin Abdullah al-Sheik, said God was holding back the rain this year because Saudi people had been “immersing in sin and forbidden acts.” Most of his sermon was carried by the state-run Saudi Press Agency.

—This is really weird, because I went to school with a kid named Grand Mufti Sheik Abdul-Aziz bin Abdullah al-Sheik! Wonder if they’re related?

I’m not too terribly pleased, as this just gives another “martyr” to the religious right.

Still, I’m glad to know this cockweed is out of power.

Now there’s an idea! Let’s give them more martyrs! Lots and lots of martyrs!

So is he just plain old Mr. Moore now?

Justice Moore, Justice Moore, riding through the land,
Justice Moore, Justice Moore, without a merry band,
He steals from the poor and gives to the rich,
Stupid bitch.

[sub]Boy, what a pile on.[/sub]

Actually, I admire the man for standing up for what he thought was right. Very few people today put their money where their mouth is.

This just in! Radical poster and “Dope” enthusiast urges massacre of God-fearing Americans!

And boy do I admire Charles Manson for standing up for what he thought was right! (Even if what he thought was right was randomly killing people in an attempt to provoke a race war prophesied by the Beatles to bring on the end of the world.)

I’m sorry. I shouldn’t make Godwinesque comparisons to serial murder. I won’t do it again, I promise. I’m a very bad boy. I deserve a spanking.

Thanks for posting that Homebrew. I found it interested that after all was decided, Moore decided to ramble on about the “evils” of homosexuality. The most shocking part for me was this:

That’s really fucked (pun intended) and shows hate is still finding new and interesting ways to rear its ugly head.

:SMACK:

Feel better?

I don’t believe anyone deserves respect for standing up for what they believe in, if their beliefs are vile, ignorant, and evil.

A whack job got a smack job. May he and all other activist judges get their ass kicked off the bench.

I simply can’t wait to hear his announcement next week! The course of the U.S. will be altered at that time - this is so exciting.

What an idiot. It’s not enough that he makes a complete ass of himself - he also levitates himself onto a pedestal and assumes we actually give a flying fuck about anything he has to say in the future.

Is it next week already? Things feel, you know, different. Somehow.
Whoops, false alarm. It was just my cell phone on vibrate.

From what I have read, you are underestimating the man. He understands the issues full well. He also understands full well that his followers and supporters do not understand, which is what is important for his purposes.

If ever there was a moment for breaching Godwin’s law, this is it.

There is a mental balancing act to perform between admiring someone who stands up for what they believe in, and despising them if what they do is totally fucked up.

If you think that balancing act in relation to Moore does not come down heavily on the side of “despise” rather than “admire”, then I suspect what you really mean is that you don’t actually think that Moore’s actions were fucked up.

True.
And he will be the next Governor of Alabama. He’ll win it in a walk. To our country’s shame…

No, to Alabama’s shame. If the good people of Alabama want to prove to the world that they are a bunch of idiots, they can elect Moore. Sadly, I suspect they will want to.

I disagree with you on this, but I also disagree with most of the posts in response to your point. Moore should have been removed as CJ of the Alabama Supreme Court but not, as some argue, because of his views.

He was rightly removed for openly disobeying a court order. When he became a judge – hell, when he became an attorney – he swore to uphold the law. He proved himself unfit to be a judge by trying to place himself above the law and ignore the order of a court.
