June 24 Are you still waiting for the heat of a summer to start?

Are you still waiting for the summer heat to show up around your area? I’m not asking if you like hot weather, just is it still not happening for the most part.

Today is hot and humid. A couple weeks ago I bought a new air conditioner to go in the living room. I think today is the day that I finally get it out of the box and put it in the window.

Your answers are contradictory within your poll.

“Are you waiting for the heat to start”? If the answer is “Yes”, then you are still waiting and are still only warm at best. If the answer is “No”, then you are not waiting and the heat should be here. But your poll answers are exactly the opposite of what they should be.

High 99 today. I’m already tired of summer.

Waiting for heat? Not here in AZ. It is not even noon yet and the thermometer outside the house says it is over 100.

Where is the sweaty smilie?

Yeah, it’s been Florida hot here since late April / early May. It’s been what some northern’s states might call hot for a bit longer than that. Which is what we call “spring time”. Summer always starts by May here, if not much earlier, solstices be damned.

Well, I’d say that we have the heat of summer, but it’s mostly warm, not hot. This is London. I wouldn’t want it properly hot all the time.

It is definitely typical Toronto weather for this time of year. Starting to be hot, regular thunderstorms to relieve the humidity and cooler nights. I am enjoying it greatly except for the part where I spend too much of it inside.

Can someone arrange another earthquake so we get sent outside for a couple hours in the sunshine while they figure out if they want us in the building or not?

The answers don’t make any sense.

We’ve had two weeks of 90+ and today, they’ve been cutting in on the TV with heat warnings.

The two choices make perfect sense to me. Warm is not the hot expected of summer.

Last year it was unusually cool all summer in mid-Ohio. This year it has started out hot.

80F at 7:00 Ante Meridian in Little Rock. Highs in the 90’s all week.
Damn.

The question is

The two answers, logically, say either “Yes [I am still waiting for the summer heat to show up because] the hot is here” or “No [I am no longer waiting for the summer heat to show up because] we are warm at best.”

Neither of those statements make sense. If you are waiting for it, it’s not there yet, so the first option makes no sense. By your own statement, warm is not hot, so the second option makes no sense.

It makes sense for the people that answered too. Don’t answer the poll then.

I just think it’s weird that the question asks, “Are you still waiting” and the answer is “Yes, it’s here.” Shouldn’t it be, “No, the hot is here” and “Yes, I’m still waiting because it’s only warm”?

HA. Right now the heat index is 104.

Just hit over 75 for the second day in a row here in Portland. We’ve had about five days since September where it was above 75 and sunny.

Dunno where you are, but you either live near me or are having the same weather. Today is cooler because it only hit 99. That’s with like a bazillion percent humidity, though, so it’ doesn’t count.

It’s been in the mid- to high-90s and very humid for several weeks. I’d say summer has arrived with a vengeance.
