June 24 Are you still waiting for the heat of a summer to start?

Been a cold/wet spring/early summer, hasn’t it? Please say yes, as we moved here last October and I would hate to think that this spring was typical.

Partly sunny and 68ºF here.

Warm enough for me, but we’re ‘still waiting’ for it to get hot. (For me the temperature is fine, but I wouldn’t mind more sun.)

South Carolina. The worst part is that when you work in a super-air-conditioned environment there’s just no way to dress for both.

It’s been hot (for New England values of hot) for a couple of weeks now. I like warm weather, but I’m struggling to find pants that I won’t sweat through at work, so I wouldn’t mind it dropping into the 70s for a few days.

And I only waiting for the heat in dread, I hate the heat.

Best summer ever! (so far at least, knock on wood)

I’m in the Bay Area (not San Francisco itself) and it’s positively cool today. I had to wear a jacket.

South Carolina, 98 here today. That’s just the temperature not making allowance for the humidity.

Not looking forward to the end of August when it gets really hot around here.

It’s a million times worse downtown - it’s not so bad at home where there’s grass and trees and things, but the trip from my parking space over a vast expanse of concrete? God.

Like I said, 80 at 7:00 AM in central Arkansas.

I hate you.

Here in western San Francisco it’s been cold all week. It’s not just the lack of sun, it’s the frigid ocean wind that’s driving me crazy. It feels like February. Unfortunately out here in the Sunset we don’t get summer until September.

It’s been a lot hotter than normal for this time of year in my part of the world. I think we’ve had 2-3 heat advisories already this month, each lasting for a couple of days. I was a pall bearer in a funeral earlier this afternoon, and the funeral director had pre-positioned an ice chest full of bottled water at the grave site.

It finally got hot this week. Normally it gets hot by the end of April. We had the longest, coolest spring ever. Today we went to the creek for the first time this summer, because it’s just been too cold.

I’ve been quite happy, except for the part where the kids kept whining that they wanted to swim, and none of the pools had warmed up yet (not to mention it was raining). And playing in the creek is such a big part of summer for us that it’s been weird.

Here in the Puget Sound area we just finished 272 straight days below 75 degrees(!). Most of June has been rainy and cloudy.

113 today. Yeah, it’s here.

Ha! Our summer is in March and April. It cools off to around 100 Fahrenheit by June.

The poll answers make no sense, so I’ll just say that No, I am not waiting for the heat to start, it’s already here. Mid-90s for today & yesterday.

This year has been insane. It’s normally hot and melting by April and we bitch about the incessant “heat” by May. It seems like the last three years summer has started later and later.

High 90s, high humidity, not a breath of moving air for the last 2 weeks.

I am not looking forward to “real” summer here in TN.

It is, apparently, 64 degrees here today, nothing like the melting temperatures we’ve been promised. Not that I’m complaining though.

June 22 is the Winter Solstice here in the Southern Hemisphere, but it’s not the coldest time of year. Conversely, December 21 is the SUMMER Solstice, but our hottest months are Jan, Feb and even March. In December, the weather is notoriously unpredictable, with oftentimes cold, wet and even snowy times in our alpine regions.

So, whatever.
