Just a test - ignore

Hmmm…my browser couldn’t locate that server, Tech-Mex – yeah,I confess - I clicked on it! (I’m not blonde for nothing.)
Lucky guess? Well that’s what you have to do sometimes on the SDMB. Putting a link in a post used to be complicated business, but I wanted to post in another forum and put in a link, so today did a search in ATMB and it appeared that now you can just copy and paste the URL - so that’s what I was testing. I still don’t understand why SDMB admin. doesn’t put it in FAQ.

test!! Move along!!

Another test by a virgin poster. Have the decency to avert your eyes and pass on.

A virgin poster??? Excu-u-u-se me! I’ve been a poster for over two years…but I have a life and don’t spend every waking moment here (like some people) :stuck_out_tongue:

Just testing a possible sig. If anyone’s still around, care to toss in your 2 cents?

“I appeal to you again to constantly bear in mind that with you, and not with politicians, not with presidents, not with office-seekers, but with you, is the question, ‘Shall the Union and shall the liberties of this country be preserved to the latest generation?’” - A. Lincoln

“An now, beware of rashness. Beware of rashness, but with energy, and sleepless vigilance, go forward, and give us victories.” - A. Lincoln

“The dogmas of the quiet past are inadequate to the stormy present. The occasion is piled high with difficulty, and we must rise - with the occasion. As our case is new, so we must think anew, and act anew. We must disenthrall ourselves, and then we shall save our country.” - A. Lincoln

Now, I’m not going to put all three in my sig. I was thinking two of them, but I want to see them up first before I make my decision. Currently, I’m leaning towards #3.

I like #3 because it’s more poetic and subtle, but it’s also too long; I’d have to go for #2 because it’s concise and makes the point.

I like #3 also. Perhaps it would be short enough if you just used the first sentence?

test

La la la la la…

Actually, I think the first sentence is repetitive. Let’s see it without.

“The occasion is piled high with difficulty, and we must rise - with the occasion. As our case is new, so we must think anew, and act anew. We must disenthrall ourselves, and then we shall save our country.” - A. Lincoln
How 'bout that?

The auto-link thing has always been here, ever since before the Great Switchover when we started using vBulletin. It does have a tendancy, though, to screw up on complicated URLs like you’d see for a search results page.
