Speaking of sketties - I think I’ll make a pasta bake for supper. I need to stop at Food Lion on the way home anyway 'cause Diet Coke is on sale, so I’ll get some fancy parmesan and some mozzarella, and maybe a loaf of Italian bread. Sounds like a plan. Now, to remember…
Twasn’t a good night; went to bed much later than I wanted to & therefore, got up a few minutes later than I wanted to. I wanted to get up early to get some pics of the kaleidoscope in the sky. - Early this moaning was a Super Blue Blood moon…& is really made of green cheese. 
I did get to see it (out the winder) but by the time I got dressed (which takes a few mins when one has single-digit wind chills) & got the camera/tripod out it had dipped below the houses, so no pics. A few mins later, in the other direction, the vapour trails were light pink against a blue sky, which was also purdy, but by then I had put the camera away.
I foresee some caffeination today.
30F here this morning. Need to get dressed and get my shopping done at a reasonable hour. Going to drive about 35 miles for my monthly Oscar Meyer brausweiger fix (beats driving 250 miles, which is the next closest place I found).

Got up early and replaced all my wipers. Aren’t I just the picture of excitement?
I’ve been such a good boy I may visit Taco Bell later and eat something not only I shouldn’t consume but that no-one should consume ---- their new spin on french-fries.
I have shopped for provisions, stowed said provisions and made up meatballs for tonight’s suppage. I et a sammich and am now in chill mode until time to start makin’ sketties and meatballs. Oh, and I made a sallit for tonight. Productive!

Going to international dinner at the Subterra restaurant tonight. It’s Key West night.
Yeah, I know. Key West isn’t international, but it’ll be good eats. Probably conch chowder and some other Caribbean/Cuban type stuffs. (They usually have the menu posted by now, but I just checked and no joy.)
According to my fitbit I slept just less than 6 hours last night. Woke up shortly after 4:00 and thought about going out to look at the moon, but then thought that the pups would want to go out too and that always turns into a rodeo, so turned over and went back to sleep. Got up at 6:40 this morning for no damn good reason. Moon was already down behind the scenery. Meh.
OMS is going about with a toddler sized t-shirt on and a sock over his injured leg/shoulder and pinned to the sleeve of his t-shirt. He can lick his leg, but he can’t get at the stitches, so this is working for us as long as someone is here to keep an eye on him. He likes it much better than the poofy neck collar and is mostly behaving. We put the collar back on for him to sleep in however. I have no intention of waking up to a gaping, bloody wound again. :eek:
Have I ever mentioned how stubborn schnauzers are. If I tell him not to do something, he won’t do it, maybe, as long as I’m looking right at him. But as soon as I turn my back…
Time to get productive.
Bumba did the vet ever say what the lump was? And was the lump causing his sore shoulder issue?

Dr. apt in the morning tomorrow for a chest xray and blood tests to get ready for the reaming of my sinuses next Thursday. I am so not looking forward to that.
Yep. Started eating it as a kid, and never really stopped. About 18 months ago stores in Ali-bama stopped carrying it, so I was occasionally driving to Evansville, Indiana to stock up. However, I recently found a store in Fayetteville, TN that carries it, so that is only a 35 mile drive. Unfortunately, they still had the ‘2-Feb-18 expiration’ stuff out, so I’ll have to make another trip later (weekend or next week).
And yes, there are other brands available in local stores and I’d probably like at least one of them just as much, but after nearly 60 years as my go-to sammich spread, it’s a hard habit to break.

Sorry. I never told you did I? The ‘lab’ said it was an infected hair follicle that got encysted. Who knew they could do that? Or get that big? I was the size of a rather flattened golf ball. That’s pretty big on a 30lb dog. I think it had something to do with the sore shoulder. I’m able to pick him up without hurting him almost every time now. There’s still something going on there, but not nearly as sensitive. X-rays didn’t show any fractures or anything either. Now that he’s not able to get at the stitches he’s healing up nicely. Stitches come out next Tuesday. 
When I was a poor college student I used to mix braunschweiger with that Fritos brand bean dip and use it as a sandwich spread. Wasn’t that crazy about it straight.
I’ll keep tabs on the human types who are not well, and send up prayers for them.

I got Atilla back and have to give him pills. I need to check out what protective gear I have. I also have some stuff to sprinkle on his food, for a week. In two months the vet wants to see him again and follow up on some blood work he did. The results put Atilla at the high end of normal for kidney function, so he may be developing urinary tract issues. I will also be feeding him Science Diet, K/D, for cats with kidney issues.
Thanks to everyone for their well wishes and prayers. I love this cat.

They are still tearing up the side yard and going all of the way to the edges of the complex on the back side. On top of that, the neighbor whose apartment backs up to mine has moved out and they are doing some evidently serious renovations. I’ve seen the usual carpeting outside, but also (smashed) bathroom fixtures, a screen door and a few other things. The manager told me that they would be working until seven in the evening for about a week. The (former) neighbor also left an SUV that had conked out out front. Yeesh! I’m glad that I no longer ride herd on tenants.
End of month has been survived. I helped shepherd a junior reconciler and a new supe through their first one. Nobody needed an ambulance. 
Cupcakes- if he doesn’t take the pills well, you can crush them into a small amount of canned food, stir it up well, and wait for him to eat that before giving him the rest of his food.
Also, did the vet talk to you about switching him to canned food? It can really help them when their kidneys start struggling. It gives them additional moisture, which they need.
