Sure is fun…you get a three foot piece of steel and get told to poke the other guy. OK, so it’s not as stupidly testosterone-driven as that (in fact, there’s a few women on the team who’ve been fencing for years, and can stomp me thoroughly). Really, there’s a lot of grace and coordination in it…I * swear… *

I know. I’ve seen fencing demos, and it’s like a dance. One of the teachers who did drama at my high school had some experience as a fencer and he showed us some moves. We were quite impressed! It was for our Shakespeare festival and it was a neat addition to the show.
