Yes.
Uncharacteristically succinct. Could you be a bit more specific? Unless it’s a military secret of some sort, which could compromise national security.
I was on the advisary commitee.
They never implemented any of my suggestions.
Bastards.
There are only two forum names that really need explaining. MPSIMS dates back to the old AOL boards. In those days, we tried (without much success) to keep it more to a “General Questions” forum with occasionally tomfoolery. One time someone posted that he had found “Titanic” wallpaper. Someone else saw this for what it was and changed the thread topic to “Mundane, Pointless Stuff I Must Share” and the name stuck.
I can proudly claim creatorship of the “BBQ Pit” name. Once again, back in the old AOL board we had two regular combatants who nickednamed each other “Junior” nad “Woonsie.” (I believe their show is still going on over at alt.fan.cecil-adams.) When we decided to create a forum of this nature here, my original title was “Junior and Woonsie’s Open Pit Barbeque.” The name was later shortened to the Pit.
Bit more verbose than your colleague. You shed some interesting light on the origin. What about the accompanying text itself? I know there’s nothing earth-shattering about it but, as I said in the OP, just curious…
