Seriously, people, I thought this was a message board for mostly adults, with a backbone of fighting ignorance.
Yet here we have people regurgitating various prepackaged items in poor taste onto photos that probably didn’t have a lot going for them anyway, and yes, it’s an actual thread.
I don’t mind dark humor but I didn’t see anything even mildly amusing here. Nothing particularly offfensive, either, but I must say, I am offended by blandness and insipidity.
Usually when I come across these kinds of threads I just click on through. This one assumes proportions of awfulness that make me sorry I paid to post here. I could have read this shit for nothing. Almost anywhere.
First Guin’s lame-ass pitting, and now this one? Jesus. I guess since you’re so easily offended, despite your protestations to the contrary, I won’t bother to ask you the requisite “Awww, does your pussy hurt?” for fear you might suffer a stroke.
About the level of 11 years olds, there just isn’t any inventiveness at all.Its the sort of Barbie meets facebook website design school.
As for the vulture watching the starving child, might I ask the person how this would go across if it had been an American child that was the subject of the deathwatch?
‘Blinging’ such an image betrays something, not sure what but it certainly isn’t wit.
I’t’s something rather less than poor taste, it truly is.
If this is what passes for humour, then it diminishes us all, this was a real life, an innocent slipping away in a man made tragedy, the utter helplessness of the child, the pure desperation - and this person ‘blings’ it.
The lack of respect - some peopel perhaps deserve or put themselves in the way of adverse publicity, can anyone here see an of that in this image?
I will also add, the other thing that makes this such a disgusting act, is knowing the rest of the story behind the photograph and the fate of the photographer, do some research on it folks, and then tell me this was an appropriate thing to do.
Even the poster realises there is some impropriety, maybe that poster should tell all of us what they find out about this image, and how ‘blinging’ it added something more to it, I would be real interested to know.
I’ll tell you what, you fucking shitstain, read the following and fucking well justify yourself,
I dunno. Sometimes this board is weird. Someone in CS will post a thread about the most hilarious web-comic ever and I click on it and it’s like, the most boring Family Circle comic ever. Then I wonder what kind of pot some people here are smoking and could you PM me with some seeds?
Whilst you make that comment, and it may well be amusing - to you, I’m glad you do not know her story, trust me on this.
I understand black humour, I also understand that folk make comments imagining they are witty, and completely unknowing and unintentionally do not realise there is another story behind it.
But, when we become adults, and have some life experience, and see and feel the unpleasentness of life, perhaps we can be more restrained, maybe even come up with genuine wit, instead of the superb example of childish kneejerk comment you made.
Well if you can’t take it as plain old black humor, look at it as artistic commentary on the increadible numbness that the internet has spread to everyone and the further cheapening of, well, everything. That image has been shown so many times that it loses it’s initial impact and the only way to help it keep it’s pertinance is to mock it slightly to make the viewer stop and think about it all over again. It’s Post Modern Pop Punk.
