Justice League and Wonder Woman both look good!

Comic Con this weekend released the first trailer for Wonder Woman and footage of Justice League (not technically a trailer).

Wow they are doing a great job on both. WW seems pretty bad ass with good action and JL looks like it found a sense of humor.

Which was desperately needed after the last few DC movies. But, yes, both those trailers look pretty good. I’d like to see DC shed the whole “grim and gritty” persona and make movies that are actually fun for a change.

WW looks too much like it’s in the vein of Man of Steel or Batman v. Superman. Neither of which I saw in theaters (or saw at all) so I’ll probably skip this one too.

JL, on the other hand, looked really entertaining. Not sure how that works, given that it’s like 50% the same cast as the previous two movies.

Booooo Cyborg. If you want diversity use John Stewart.
This “Holy Trinity” crap is revisionism. I’m fine with WW but her JLA involvement is a convulated mess (I guess they all are) but i always thought the Holy Trinity stuff was shoe-horned.

Cyborg’s been a member of the JL for half a decade now.

Is it weird that I kept expecting her to hurl the shield?

When you’re talking about a medium that completely remakes itself every few years, the word “revisionism” has no meaning.

I was getting a strong “First Avenger” vibe from it as well. I don’t mind WW’s feminist vibe, but the exchange with Steve’s secretary was just moronic. “Where I’m from, we call that a slave.” Yeah, there’s this new thing out called employees…

I continue to not give a shit about WW. I still think Gal Gadot was a major casting mistake and I think the movie will turn a profit but be no more memorable than the last few Spiderman movies. I also thought the trailer was a fairly standard schlocky compendium of some decent cinematography but not much else.

JL, OTOH, looked awesome.

The Justice League trailer made Batman look like an actual likeable person, so that’s interesting.

Wonder Woman looks amazing. I liked the glow effect on her lasso, and how that made it stand out from the desaturated look of the rest of the film. I wouldn’t mind the washed out look they go for in DC comics if they used it to say something. Like in Man of Steel - imagine if every scene without Superman were the same gray palette - and every scene with Superman was super-saturated? That first scene of him flying, if the colors had just bloomed when he got airborne - it could have been like seeing Oz for the first time.

Only just seen BvS : DoJ, and she was the best thing in it. I have no problem with her as WW.

But talk about casting mistakes: I just could not help noticing that Superman had a permanent frown - even as Clark Kent, he just fucking frowns. All. The. Time. So not right.

Maybe as a (relatively) subtle representation of his super-senses?

Justice League and Wonder Woman do both look great. And yet, Doctor Strange still eclipses both.

Jason Momoa might just make Aquaman cool. Might. I don’t like the Flash casting at all. Barry Allen’s name and Wally West’s personality.

Marvel - see in theaters. DC - Well, maybe, what else is available?

My reaction was “meh”. These look like two more DC misfires. It makes you appreciate the job that Kevin Feige or somebody is doing with the Marvel movies.

Watched the con trailer for both today and… hey, I’m actually interested in a DC film. Wonder Woman looks like a fun action flick with a strong lead (gender not important to me) and JL showed flashes of humor and some understanding of what’s helped make the Marvel Universe films work. I don’t need “Marvel but with DC guys” but I do need something better than the gloomy dullness of the previous DC films.

For what it’s worth, I don’t have any particular attachment to any comic character or franchise – I just want an enjoyable film and Marvel’s delivered so far when DC hasn’t.

Huh. After watching the two trailers, I have the exact opposite sentiment: I am looking forward to seeing Wonder Woman more than I’ve ever looked forward to seeing a DC movie. In fact, it will be the first DC movie I actually watch since that detestable Green Lantern movie. Meanwhile, I continue to not give a fuck about the Justice League movie.

And, as previously mentioned by @G0sp3l, I still want to see Doctor Strange way more.

And none of them hold a candle to Luke Cage.

I’ve seriously watched that trailer a dozen times by now.

I don’t know she looks like xena when they showed her pic from SVB …

“Ben, we need you to play Bruce Wayne like Robert Downey Jr playing Tony Stark…”
“Sure thing.”
“I wasn’t finished.”
“Sorry.”
“Okay: like Robert Downey Jr playing Tony Stark, but on tranquilizers.
“Will do.”

Really? That was the worst part to me. It looks so completely fake. The glow is way too much.

I agree with that, but didn’t see much sign they were doing that. It would have been great if the world of men was that color but Themyscira was maybe red colored instead. And then WW brought in the full color pallette as she fought.
