Justice League and Wonder Woman both look good!

According to the DCAU wiki, nope. Ares only appeared in the JLU episode “Hawk and Dove”.

Now that I think about it, there is one other notable thing about that episode: brothers Hawk and Dove were voiced by Fred Savage and Jason Hervey from the Wonder Years. IIRC, they were originally cast in their “proper” roles, with Hervey as the aggressive brother and Savage as the meek one. The actors themselves decided to switch roles, so Savage became Hawk and Hervey became Dove.

Ares was the bad guy in the very underrated 2009 direct to video Wonder Woman movie. That might be what some people are remembering.

The latest Wonder Woman trailer was just released.

DC may actually have a decent movie here.

Produced by Zack Snyder, Story by Zack fucking Snyder. That proves you wrong. He makes crappy superhero films.

I’ve already seen Zack Snyder’s movie. Why does he keep re-releasing it with a new title?

Chirs Pine is in it, as some sort of love interest; is’n WW supposed to be a Lesbian now?

Steve Trevor has been involved with Wonder Woman from the start. He has been a love interest and a work partner.

It’s strongly implied she always was.

Bisexual, not lesbian. Steve Trevor is still her One True Love, but she spent centuries on an island populated exclusively by women, and it’s pretty unlikely that she never had a single intimate relationship in that entire time. On top of that, William Marston, the guy who created her, was in an open relationship with his wife and another woman until he died, at which point the two women carried on together. If you go back and read his original comics, the queer subtext is just barely “sub.” It’s pretty apparent that Marston always intended for Wonder Woman to be bisexual (and heavy into bondage) but there was only so much you could get away with at the time.

So it’s not so much that they just decided to make her (also) into girls, as much as they just acknowledged what’s been pretty obvious for a long time.

Thirded. Not ever going to pay (directly) for another Snyder movie. It is why I have Netflix.

Well, they clearly have a decent trailer for a movie there.

I share the general skepticism about Zack Snyder’s directorial instincts. But note that the scenes of Themiscyra in the new trailer are filmed entirely without a blue-grey digital filter. Which may be a first for Snyder: I don’t think I’ve ever seen something he shot that didn’t look washed out and miserable. So, he is capable of some limited amount of learning.

Note that Wonder Woman is directed by Patty Jenkins though Zack Snyder as “story by” and producer may have a very large influence.

Brian

Apparently he hit the Hyper-Teal-Orange filter button on accident.

He didn’t hit anything. He’s not directing the movie.

That’s okay, I was just riffing off the “not blue-grey” remark. I don’t give a turd who directed it.

Whoever directed the movie pressed hard on the Hyper-Teal-Orange button. It’s obnoxious (and all too common these days, of course).

Here’s what I’m hoping, its small, so its doable: Don’t be like BvS and show the twist main villain in the god damn commercial!

Right now, we have some snippets of Batman gathering up the troops in JL. That’s good. Show some WW, maybe a hint of Cyborg (leave him out of the commercials because he should be the most visually stunning one and that should be left for the movie). DON’T FUCKING SHOW ANY HINT OF SUPERMAN COMING BACK. Not. ONE. FUCKING. HINT. The most Superman that should be shown should confirm he’s still dead, maybe the JL looking sadly at the public monument or something. And don’t show who the villain is. We’ll be drawn in by the JL, we don’t need a villain in the commercials.

Same thing for WW. Right now the trailers show Diana transitioning out of Themyscira into fighting in WW1. There’s some conflict within the Amazons, and that beach scene where they fight actual WW1 soldiers. This is good. The focus should be on Diana and her role in WW1. There’s also a hint of some girl with a messed up face that I think will end up being the villain. We don’t need to hear her monologing about her evil plans. At most, show a few seconds of her demonstrating her power (I’m assuming she also can fight and has superhuman strength like WW) and that’s it.
