I liked the cameo but once you acknowledge that the Lantern Corps exist it makes their absence from the fight a bit glaring. I spent the entire climax fight expecting a Lantern to show up at some point. If they are out there they should be there, right?
No, he was simply terrible.
Hence the line in the previous movie about there being no Lanterns.
I must have missed that completely, who said it?
We saw it the other day. Kind of a snorer. The DC franchise is miles behind the Marvel films. Did like the Flash. Aqua Man was beyond annoying.
Oops, not in the previous movie. Rather, Steppenwolf said it in at least the trailer for this movie.
I forgot when he actually said it in this movie. Or maybe that’s one of the things that was cut.
Personally I was a little disappointed in Superman’s rebirth scene; I hoping it play out more like Diana interrupting Steve Trevor’s bath in Wonder Woman.
it was cut from the release. Heck it may have been for the ads only.
Seems like a pretty important thing to cut. Witness DigitalC’s confusion.
Well, in the animated Justice League, typically Superman goes in first without a plan and gets zapped by some kind of electrical force-field or energy ray or alien glue-trap, knocking him out of action and letting Batman sneak in and defeat the antagonist by short-circuiting something.
Saw it on Saturday, like most posters here if I’ve never seen a Marvel movie before I’d have said it was a pretty good movie. Unfortunately, I have see every Marvel movie so it wasn’t a pretty good movie.
In my opinion Marvel (the studio, so not really counting any X-Men movies) just “gets it”. Since “Iron Man”, every Marvel movie has been a solid movie. My least favorite was probably “Iron Man 3”, and even that wasn’t a “bad” movie.
Take a movie like “Ant Man”. Freaking Ant Man? This is a 3rd string Marvel super hero that hardly anyone has heard of before. Yet the movie was great! Way better than it should have been.
Now take “Justice League”. Batman and Superman? And Wonder Woman? Talk about big guns! Yet the movie just didn’t “click”.
MtM
Saw it last night. It was fun. I liked the Flash, and I was surprisingly less irritated by Batffleck than I thought I would be.
Needed more half-naked Jason Momoa, though. Mmmmmmm.
Saw it yesterday. It was…ok. Literally just ok.
I do wonder why the Amazons still had bows and arrows? I mean after they’d seen what German rifles could do. Sure Diana could have arranged for ocassional shipments of surplus weapons for them.
Imagine, Amazon’s armed with G3,Ak47, FN FALs… excuse me. I’ll be back.
Regarding bows and arrows, given Amazonian super-strength you’d think they could use bows with truly ridiculous draw weights. If the English longbow topped out at about 800 Newtons (comparable to a light-to-moderate pistol bullet), could an Amazon use a bow (probably by necessity of magical construction) with ten times that force, comparable to a 5.56mm rifle round? Twenty times the force, creeping into 7.62x51mm territory?
I’m just picturing an Amazon with a metal bow and a metal drawstring, firing a metal arrow that hits like a TAC-50.
Just watched and thought it was …awful. Oof. Flash was ridiculously bad, especially considering the Netflix series. The whole plot was basically “wait for Superman.” Aquaman was terrible. Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman was the lone bright spot. What a train wreck DC is…
There isn’t a Flash network series. There’s a Flash series on CW, which… well, it’s not great TV. It’s not horrible, but it’s not significantly less flawed than the movies.
(The series creator, Andrew Kreisburg, got fired as part of the whole #MeToo movement, for sexually harassing people working for him, and it’s distrubingly easy to tell which episodes were his.)
Yes, I’m watching it on Netflix, but my bad. My point is that the special effects done on the CW show are no worse than the huge budget movie. And the actor playing Flash looks like a young Jimmy Fallon, which took me out of it…
Mrs. Cups and I saw it the other night and we both agree that it wasn’t good, it wasn’t terrible, it just is what it is. We were not fans of Flash, he was too jokey and too obviously Joss and his character tried too hard to be funny, so it ruined it. We both liked BvS more than this one. Then again, we liked that movie more than most. Other than Flash sucking, Batfleck was great, Gal Gadot is perfect in every way, Supes was great because Henry Cavill is in Chris Evans body territory and Cyborg was…there.
This is a fantastic article which details every change that was made to the movie by Joss and, well, it’s a lot. Like, a lot a lot. Like, practically the entire movie was rewritten and changed. I can’t imagine we ever will, but I would love to see Zach’s version of this movie and compare it.
