Justice League: Season One, Am I Nuts? (open Spoiler)

I just purchased JL season one. One of the special features is a commentary track
for Savage Time part 2. When I first watched this episode I saw a scene during an aerial battle featuring the Hawk Squadron where Superman destroyed a plane by flying through it. When Supes emerged from the explosion he was covered with burning Aviation fuel. He looked just like The Golden Age Human Torch. I smirked and thought it was a neat Marvel send up.
I told a comic book geek friend of mine about it and he said he watched the episode but didn’t see what I saw. I thought maybe I was hallucinating.
Well there it was again preserved in all its digital splendor. And the producers and creator didn’t acknowledge it at all.
Am I seeing things? Am I reading too much into this? Do the DC guys want to avoid trademark infringement? Or am I just nuts?
Please help, comment or enlighten. Oh and If there are other marvel nods I’ve missed please let me know.

Didn’t see the ep or the image. Considering that Marvel and DC have a history of nodding acknowledgements and full-blown pastiches of each others’ work (e.g. Marvel’s Squadron Supreme as a pastiche of the League, DC’s similar, albeit one-shot, appearance of a “Cap’s Kooky Quartet”-era Avengers) it wouldn’t surprise me if the resembalnce were intentional. It also wouldn’t surprise me if Marvel, after being made aware of it, did absolutely nothing about it.

I saw it, thought the exact same thing. The resemblance is perfect.
(There’s even three comics, 2 marvel, 1 DC, where the writers all went to the same halloween party and told a story about it.)

(Heck, the Celestial Madonna was written half at Marvel, half at DC. )

I aware that there are several examples in comics. I was mainly asking about the JL cartoon.

Can you provide a screenshot or any evidence? It’s hard to do a comparison without.
