Now THAT was a great ep. They’ve gone back to the simple basics of a good story told well, and the actors have settled back into character instead of vying for Emmys, as I mentioned early in the season.
One of my favorite lines: “I’m gonna count to one…” I was almost positive that one of the creepy old guys in the meeting with Boyd was James Taylor.
What the hell could have possibly made Jody think Rayland was not going to shoot? that was ridiculous, a freaking security guard would have shot him in that situation.
I got to be an extra in this episode in the bar scene - it was an awesome experience and I loved seeing the whole episode put together. Overall, I really, really like the way this season is playing out.
I cannot wait to see what Hell Boyd will rain down on the men at the party. Surely he will play along for a while before serving some cold, cold payback.
Payback for what? They haven’t done anything to him yet, except insult him. Unless I missed it, and I may well have – I missed a lot of dialogue this week for some reason.
winnee, that’s very cool. It must have been really fun. I’m envious.
What’s Johnny’s game? Will he tell Boyd that Ellen May is still alive?
Face, yeah. I didn’t think of that – Johnny using Colt to take Boyd down. He has to, because if Johnny doesn’t tell Boyd that Ellen May’s still alive, Colt will know something’s up.
Or perhaps Johnny will try to recruit Colt, and Colt will rat him out to Boyd in an attempt to redeem himself with his old Army buddy, while at the same time agreeing to go along with Johnny and attempt to find out more about his plans. Double agent.
I don’t think he liked hearing that Crowders always do what they say, just like his Daddy did. I’d think that would be reason enough.
I thought that the guy with the beard that first insulted Boyd was Drew Thompson, because I recognized the actor. He was in that 80’s movie where the girl pretended to be a boy, Just One of the Guys, and also in an episode of TNG where he was an old Admiral who took a de-aging potion to settle an old dispute.
Of course, every one of the older guys who sat down with Boyd was also recognizable, so what do I know.
I agree that implying Boyd is their bitch and will do what he’s told is fightin’ words. I can’t figure out what Johnny is up to. I actually like his character a lot but won’t be surprised if he meets a Devil-like ending.
He’s not that smart - he can barely keep it together that ellen may is missing - I hope that Johnny tries to recruit him and Colt goes all PTSD on him.
For those that don’t read Elmore Leonard, Jackie Nevada is a character from his books. I hope this wasn’t a one time appearance, because she is a terrific character.
