At least that’s what a Facebook friend is convinced of. No amount of debunking is penetrating. It’s a convoluted story, and who cares if Trudeau’s mom wasn’t anywhere near Fidel around the time Justin would have been conceived (or for years), but this is really true.
This seemingly started on Reddit’s and Breitbart’s dark bowels. Buy hey, don’t shoot the messenger, the proof is in the pudding. See the photos that prove it here. Legit, huh?
You aren’t convinced? Well, I found these to seal this case.
Well, Fidel wasn’t near Maggie at conception time, that we know of. But my money would be on Mick Jagger being Justin’s father.
Mick and Maggie were an item at times. Or maybe it was one of the other Stones.
And if he were (note the subjunctive mood, expressing a non-factual condition), so what? Who the hell cares what male provided the sperm to make this particular person? This is what I would like you to ask your Facebook friend - what possible difference could it make, such that it’s worthwhile even bringing it up, let alone arguing about it?
She hates Trudeau, because she hates his policies. Somehow this would explain everything… or something. I don’t know. People get blinded by politics, even in Canada, it seems.
It is somewhat important who’s DNA the leader of Canada carries. If the father is Pierre, than he should have some of his intelligence. If it’s Mick…
As for appearance, he shows no resemblance at all to Pierre. It’s all Maggie, and he appears to have her intelligence too, rather than Pierre’s. I don’t think he has half the IQ of his father.
Pierre was very intelligent but that also made him arrogant and contemptuous of almost everyone. On balance I think he was a great PM, but a little humility is good, too. Justin seems like a good balance.
As for Justin’s parentage, remind me to get all my news from Facebook and Breitbart.com.
I honestly don’t see why. If his genetic father was Joe the Plumber (not that there’s anything wrong with that) his education and his values will have come from the family that raised him.
Not that I want to get into nature vs. nurture, but give me a break.
Unless you know of a bloodline requirement to be head of government there’s only the requirement that the Governor General believes that the person in question is best capable of gaining the support of a majority of the house.
Exactly. Good lord, he reminds me of his father in so many ways. But physically, hell ya. And I see Margaret in him as well. How could anyone buy that kind of crap?
I don’t know. She’s a smart person, and the sweetest person in the world. I was convinced that she was joking, when it became obvious that she wasn’t, I had spent too much time trying to show her how far-fetched that was. I stopped when pushing further might have damaged our friendship.
Well, she obviously wants to believe this, more strongly than she wants to seek actual truth. So you’re never going to convince her with ‘facts’.
The only possible way to change anything is to get her to face why she wants to believe it. Even then it’s a longshot, but sometimes when we say our not-really-conscious -but-strongly-felt things out loud, it can help us let go of them.
I see this all the time, common with my not-so-internet-savvy older friends, and even occasionally with media-savvy millennials.
It seems clear to me that people have some expectations of the people they oppose or support, and quickly adopt whatever confirms those expectations, however farfetched.
I am not immune to this, but I hate being fooled and lied to more than I dislike my opponents. I never share stuff on social media without some fact-checking.
It would be likewise. Mick was a student at the London School of Economics, until the blues singing thing started to take off. From interviews and how he’s managed his life, finances, etc., it’s obvious he’s an intelligent guy.
So, if Justin is as dumb as you say, it’s just as unlikely his father is Mick as it is Pierre.
