Ah, a new one. I thought you were referring to this.
When I hear the name “Franz Kafka,” the first thing that pops into my head is “disco,” and this new statue really captures that.
For a second I was aftraid it was going to be a statue of a giant roach or something.
Well, it certainly is . . . sparkly. Not dignified or appropriate, but definitely sparkly. I do like the one in MovieMogul’s link though.
I was expecting it to morph into a giant sparkly roach head. That could be done with holograms.
There is a giant roach in MovieMogul’s image - you need to look closely, though.
Well, the whole thing is roach colored and the torso is sort of reminiscent of a roach if you already know of the association, but other than that I don’t see it(?)
I like it!
I don’t care for all of David Černý’s sculptures (the babies…shudder), but I think he did a good job with this one.
It’s not all that small, but it is subtle. It may have been more obvious seeing it in the flesh.
But when you give up:
Look at the base of the statue
I still don’t see it! I never know where Waldo is, I can’t never see the hidden image in those 3D picture thingies, and now I can even spot the roach. And dadgummit, I can always find a real roach if it’s *anywhere *in my vicinity, such is my hatred. How can I not see it:confused::mad:
It’s not actually in the statue and it isn’t as realistic as the statue. The roach is in the mosaic of bricks underneath the statue. And perhaps the base counts as the roach’s back.
Ahhhhhhhhh! I briefly considered if that was what we were talking about but it seemed a bit of a stretch. I imagine it *is *easier to see in person. Thanks!
