I might be able to come, depending on what my work schedule is (if we figure out the date pretty soon, I can make sure I don’t have to work that day, though). I work on the Plaza now, at the movie theater. I can’t offer free popcorn to Dopers, though, sorry guys.
Sperfur was complaining at the last Dopefest I went to that I wasn’t 18, but I will be 20 by the time this Dopefest comes around.

I bet I suck at bowling more than you do; last time I went I ended up bowling a 32.
There’s a Better Cheddar on the Plaza, but no bowling alley. I don’t know what bowling alley would be closest. (There’s also a Better Cheddar in Prarie Village, KS).
Also, I’m totally immune to peer pressure, so sperfur can’t make me do anything naughty (or at least anything worse than what I did at Underwear Ball, which was dressing in ridiculous lingerie and grind dancing with two gay guys at once).
If at all possible I’m in! I’ve been in KC area for only 4 months, but I’m ready to meet the KC Doper hive/collective/flock. I don’t have any suggestions, most everything is new to me.

Heh, much as I’d like the newest Spooky Mansion (which ain’t as spooky as the first one, but I’ve been trying) to become Chez Hotel Skippy, Baker, I’m afraid we’ll probably already have guests staying over that weekend. (Besides, you Internet people are scary. I’m not sure I want you to know where I live. ;))
I’m up for bowling, if that works out for the rest of you. Should we do that on a Friday (assuming leagues haven’t taken over the lanes that night)? Or should Friday just be an easy get-together at a fun food place where the music ain’t too loud?

Frame 1: Normal bowling. Let’s get this boring deviation out of the way early.
Frame 2: Bowl with the opposite hand.
Frame 3: Sit on the floor and bowl by pushing the ball forward with your feet.
Frame 4: Bowl backwards between your legs (Don’t hike the ball — keep it on the ground!)
Frame 5: Get on your knees and bowl, pig!
Frame 6: Slo-o-o-o-o-w - mo-o-o-o-o-t i o n b-o-o-o-o-owl.
Frame 7: Bowl with the most differently-weighted ball available.
Frame 8: Get someone else in the bowling alley — NOT with our group — to bowl one frame for you.
Frame 9: The Blind Bowling the Ball! (You may want a partner to help aim you down the lane instead of at other unsuspecting bowlers.
Frame 10: Have someone stand in front on you, legs spread. Roll the ball through their legs. (Watch the crotches, people! — Not literally!!!)

God yes a dopefest! I’ve been waiting for another one to come round. I broke up from my boyfriend last november and I’ve been working out my angst via owning my first home (at home) and learning to be a dba (at work).
Now I’m ready for some fun with people outside of work.
As far as I know I’m free for the rest of the summer after next weekend, and I’m up for anything.
Also, Baker, I love going to the Better Cheddar. There is one in Prairie Village but its not as good as the one on the Plaza. You need an escort, I’m your girl.

You know, what I was thinking that we could also do is hit a minigolf course. Minigolf, bowling… might as well go out and buy the trailer now.

I am very excited
Friday and Saturday nights, I’m usually at The Quaff downtown (10th & Broadway). Until recently I was at Harrah’s on the weekends too, but now I just do promotional work for them.
Has a schedule been thrashed out yet? Is anything on for Friday, or will the fun start Saturday?
