It was even more fun than I expected. Eating at Quaffe, and seeing Shai’ tan’s magic act was wonderful. I can never figure out how magicians do their thing. I wanna know where those limes came from!
The next day I saw the City Market with ouisey before we all had lunch at Al Dente. I could have spent all day at the market! Then some of us went on to the Steamboat Arabia Museum. It was truly fascinating, and I’m so glad I went. Those of you who ever have the chance to go, take my word for it, and see this slice of history.
After the Arabia many of us bowled at Mission Bowl. We played two games, drank beer and ate bar food, then a good part of the group played mini-golf. Cajun Man and I sat inside where it was cool!
Today we had the cookout, and then, regretfully, we parted. Skip’s hamburgers were nummy! Gary T got several of us together to play croquet, a game I hadn’t played in decades.
Many, many thanks to ousiey for housing me while I was in KC. She let me look at her books, play with her cats, and look up stuff on her computer, in addition to providing a bed. Oh, and we did get to the Better Cheddar, before attending the picnic today. And she also roamed the City Market with me on Saturday, before the group ate lunch. She is a gracious hostess. She, and any of you, can always camp out with me if you are ever in Topeka for any reason.
