You’re quite welcome to stay at my house if you like. Its a smallish house, and sleeping on my air mattress will be required. And I have 3 cats. But its pretty much in the middle of KC and has a very pretty garden.

I’m hoping to make some of this fest, but I’m not in a position to be sure yet.
I would like to suggest Cafe al Dente for Saturday lunch. It has great food at moderate prices (including a superb shrimp cocktail, splendid pizza, and some killer desserts). It’s just a block from Minsky’s - a block closer to the Arabia. 
The folks there are pleasant, and they have a nice outdoor patio. With a call a day or so ahead they’ll arrange seating for the group, possibly outside.
If I can make it to the park on Sunday, I’ll bring croquet, so you’d better practice (not that it will do you any good).

I sent you an email with details about The Quaff. If dinner is at seven on Friday, that should give everyone enough time to eat and gab, and still get to The Quaff and down a drink or two before I start.
My job is soooooo much easier if everyone is good ‘n’ sauced!

I’m up for it. They seem to have a wider variety of options (pizza included, for those of you who were counting on that), and some of it, I imagine, even healthy. Works for me. Unless anyone has any objections by the end of today, I say we move the lunch on over to Cafe al Dente.
Since I didn’t see any objections to Cafe al Dente either here or elsewhere, I think we can safely replace Minsky’s as our lunch destination on Saturday. And in doing that, I think we should finalize our plans. Here’s the schedule for this weekend:
Friday - July 14th - 7:00 P.M.
Dinner and meet-up at the Quaff. Afterward, we’ll stick around for Shai’tan’s magic act. (Those of us who can, that is.)
Saturday - July 15th - 12:00 P.M. (Lunch and Arabia) & 6:00 P.M. (Dinner and bowling/golf)
Lunch in the City Market at Cafe al Dente, and then walk over to the Arabia. Afterward we’ll break and meet up again that evening at Mission Bowl for mini-golf, bowling and greasy food.
Sunday - July 16th - 11:30ish A.M.
Meet at Shawnee Mission Park–Shelter #11–at around 11:30 or so. (Probably the earliest I’ll be there is 11:00, but we have the shelter from 8 - 2.) We can start the food closer to noonish and gab and chat. For those of you who want to explore Shawnee Mission Park, feel free to do so. There’s even a nature trail close to our shelter for those who want to take a 6 mile (round-trip) walk.
You’ll probably want to bring cash for each event you attend (except Sunday; auntie em and I will provide the burgers, dogs and buns, so just bring whatever extra food and drink you’d like) because I’m not sure it’ll be easy, or allowed, for the waitstaff to divide our bills into separate ones. And if you have any questions about directions, feel free to e-mail me.
Sounds good. So dinner is AT The Quaff on Friday… got it. For whatever reason, I thought someone had decided on somewhere else to eat on Friday, and the Quaff was gonna be an after dinner show with drinks. Since there will be no travel time between dinner and the show, three hours seems like a while for EVERYONE to stick around (unless they are drinking), just to see me perform. I can start a little early if you like, say… 9 pm?
I’ll bet this group can find something to talk about 'til you’re on. 
Hey, if we can see ya’ at 9:00, that’d work out well. I figure folks will be straggling in at different times, anyway, so the 2 hours before your show would hopefully catch the majority of us.

Oh, good! It’ll be nice to see Mrs. Gary T again. And thanks for calling Cafe al Dente. I meant to do that today when I had time; I just never had the time and forgot all about it.
Cafe al Dente expects about 15 of us at noon Saturday under the name “Dopefest.”
While the patio is very nice, I didn’t request it due to the high temperature expected - figured some folks would really rather be inside with the A/C. However, if you really want the patio, that could probably be arranged with another phone call (or possibly on the spot when we arrive).

I don’t know if I’ll be able to come tomorrow. My mom wants to go shoe shopping. (Scrubs: shoe shopping…. Guys zone out. Lace bra! Guys wake up.)
Hey, we’ve got all kinds of events planned for tomorrow (well, three…), so if you can’t make one, we’ll still let you come to the other two. Plus, Sunday: Hot day, grilling, lake nearby, a nature trail with horse poop plopped down in spots.
