Just trying to figure out how many party hats and name tags to bring 
I didn’t think my wife would be interested, but she said sure, why not. So count me in for two.

Yeah, that’s me. Do we want to meet up in Lawrence instead? I could look into renting a park shelter for half a day if we want to have a cookout, or there are a number of brewpubs in town where we could meet. Heck, if the group is small enough we could meet at my house and just hang out on the deck.
Or we could meet up at IKEA in Kansas City for a game of hide-and-seek!

I’ve only been to Free State, but I’d get are other fine establishments something new would be juuuust fine.

Lots of brewpub choices in Lawrence now. You can’t go wrong with Free State, although it’s often crowded. There’s 23rd St. Brewing Co out on the west side of town. Lawrence Beer Co is a new-ish brewpub east of downtown in the old warehouse area they’ve been rehabbing the last few years. And a brand new shiny brewpub called Fields &Ivy just opened on east 23rd this summer.
That’s a tough call…after checking them out I’m kind of leaning 23rd. St.?
I’d be ok with that. While there’s nothing wrong with the two newer ones, they do seem a little more “trendy”.

How early were you thinking? Looks like there is a home football game at 11 am on 10/5 vs Oklahoma. We might have to deal with game day / post game crowds if we go too early.

The only problem is I won’t be able to bring cookies as I would assume bringing in outside food to a pub is a no-no. I guess I could distribute them outside. Furtively, like it’s something underhanded.
