very well done by mr noah. the scariest and most dangerous time is when you try/or do leave.
Instagram has suspended Ye’s account for 24 hours because he used a racist term to describe Trevor Noah. The term is “Koon baya”, which I never heard before, but after looking it up, it appears to mean "a black individual who is anti-black and often acts against the black community.”
Thank you; I was wondering what the word used was. I assumed it was the n-word.
“Koon baya” is a play on the folk song “Kumbaya, My Lord,” with a racial slur instead of the first syllable. Apparently, the slur “coon” itself can mean a black person who favors white people over black people, at least according to Urban Dictionary.
Urban Dictionary does not (yet) have a definition for “koon baya,” which I suspect is original to Ye.
Sounds like South Park needs to do another episode making fun of Kanye. That’s a suggestion for next season, Trey and Matt.
Note that unlike the word “nigger”, “coon” is a racial insult in South Africa. Although it’s inherited from the American usage and more specifically applied to Coloured people, not Black people.
That’s a great line from Trevor Noah. (Being both observant, and a good play on a familiar pattern, using the famous The Usual Suspects line.)
An interesting discussion of the precursors of that movie line:

Kanye should take this well.
He looks like he’s perpetually about to spit water in someone’s face.
Now I wanna see someone make a picture of Kanye doing the Triple H water-spitting mist thing.
