Karate student stomps on man's head, his teacher posts the video on Youtube 25 years later

Mentally retarded is what I thought of too when they said he’s mentally challenged, but I think they just refer to his tenuous grip on reality. He does seem like he would have been interesting to talk to.

He was known in the area for his strange behavior and I think he annoyed some business owners or something. It’s in the thread from the OP and I’ll try to find the post when I next look through it.

From liveleak.com:

Everyone in there that day should be dragged off to any of several MMA training establishments and be shown how it is really done. After the fighters in the MMA gym had watched that video.

The Wolf’s Lair Academy would have a field day with shitheads like those.

Dude needs to spend about six months on the heavy bag learning to get some hip drive behind his kicks, that’s for sure.

Yup! The Jesus-Freak came close to ko’ing the marine. Sensei-Bob would not have been pleased, had he had to move his lardy-ass to help his man out.

Which raises an interesting point. I wonder why Sensei-Bob didn’t “teach the lesson”? You don’t suppose it might have been because he was worried about getting shown up in front of his pupils, do you?

There are reports that the video is being discussed in some law-enforcement forums, and that all the relevant agencies are well aware of it now, as well and the Marine Corps.

Actually, in my experience in these kind of dojo arashi situations it is almost SOP to refer the challenger to the senior student - both out of respect and to give the instructor a chance to scope out the competition.

I have been in similar situations. When I was teaching a class many years back, a “kung-fu” guy came in and was watching. (This was in a college gym.) He was in uniform, and I noticed him watching and asked if he would like to join the class, which was pretty informal - just me and some of my brown belts sparring. He said No, because it wouldn’t do any good - judo didn’t work against his style because his ch’i caused him to stick to the floor and made him unthrowable.

Well.

As is common amongst judo students, all my brown belts’ eyes lit up like sharks on Christmas morning who find a hemophiliac under the tree, and there was a general clamor of “Ooh! Ooh! Can I play with the new toy if I promise not to break it?” But, rank hath its privileges, and I got first shot. I didn’t kill him, I didn’t even hurt him very much, but after he got up he said he hadn’t been ready. So we gave him a chance to get ready, and meditate or whatever, and my senior brown belt got the next crack at Bruce Lee v2.0. Also not a ringing triumph for the power of the ch’i, and the brown belt was somewhat less concerned for the well-being of the gentleman in question. He got up again, albeit a bit more slowly, and left, after telling us that we would stand no chance against his master, who really could stick to the floor/bend steel in his bare hands/break bricks with his eyebrow/whatever. We invited his master to come and show us, but we never saw him again.

If you can imagine.

Ah, to be young and stupid again.

Thanks for taking my comment lightly, I was just thinking about what an asshole I was coming across as.

Youth is fleeting.

This thread does nothing to dispel my opinion that martial arts are for dorks, psychos and Asian kids.

Not at all. I’d wager that people are arseholes before they become martial artists, not because of their training. Hey, there are some well-conditioned assholes around!

Ok, two things.

First, there was some funny shit in that video. “You’re good” being the funniest of all. I just wanna put that out there for anyone that peeped some funny shit and felt all weird inside for giggling. You are not alone.

Second, I will go ahead and ask the dumb ask questions in this thread, I am not ashamed to; did the man who got stomped know any karate at all? Or was he just doing made up moves the whole time?

I think Marines are some of the most disciplined, best-trained members of the military around, but I also think that the organization has a certain allure to mentally unbalanced meatheads. When someone can’t go 2 paragraphs without mentioning the fact that he’s a Marine, watch out.

Some people think a high and tight hair cut and being able to say “ooh rah” and “semper fi” gives them some kind of free pass at life. They turn it into some kind of cult. “Yeah man, some Marine buddies of mine were out walking and we passed a couple of queers, so we based their faces against the brick wall and left them in an alley. Don’t mess with Marines! Semper Fi!”

You’re an insecure cocksucker.

From what I remember: He seemed to have managed to get a few good hits in, but overall his fighting was what you might expect from someone claiming to have been trained by Jesus. I… can’t really bring myself to watch it again, so I can’t say any more.

Yeah, no shit. This is exactly the perfect thread to come in and brag in public about how tough you are in real life.

Hell I wouldn’t be surprised to see some dipshit posting a link to their own “macho man” video.

Why, I don’t think he’s insecure.

Didn’t he know that chi only “works” with other people who believe in it, just like communing with the dead, speaking in tongues, and LARPing?

Gotta love a martial art that blends in completely unprovable, undemonstratable concepts that counter any kind of scientific reasoning. It’s like church, except you have to pay. Wait…

Why? Just curious.

On a google search I found ‘There’s a poster on Bullshido who says he’s the son of Willie Dennis…’ (Willie Dennis is the Marine administering the beating.) I could not read that page without registering, and I didn’t want to go through 50 pages at the Bullshido link posted earlier. Has anyone read this alleged son’s comments? If so, can you point to specific posts or pages?
