TLC announced they’re cancelling “Kate Plus 8”. Kate said she’s surprised and that the kids are crying about the end of the show, and Jon Gosselin has issued a few statements that he’s relieved the show is over and his kids can get some privacy.
I was a fan of the show when the kids were little, but often found Kate to be a horrible person. I’m totally disgusted with how pretty much everyone (besides the kids) acted throughout the whole breakup, but especially TLC for basically blackmailing Jon into allowing them to continue filming his kids against his wishes. Good riddance to all of them.
Yeah, it was a nice show the first year or so, then the overt hostilities made the show rather tragic.
And, yes, Kate was a bitka who liked everything under her thumb, including her husband. My wife and I would argue about her (Kate’s) actions - she didn’t think she was being harsh, I disagreed and predicted the divorce LONG before it came out that they were having “difficulties”.
The first season was very good. At that time they were still normal people trying to raise that unexpected six pack of babies and the twins.
After that they began to change into the media personalities everyone dislikes.
TV was their only way to earn enough to raise those kids. I wish they had limited it to maybe two specials a year. Filming nonstop like they did couldn’t be a healthy situation. I hope the parents banked enough money to finish raising these kids.
I’m glad the show was canceled. I think they still plan an occasional special to keep track of the kids as they grow up.
Well, two of them were expelled from their private school last year. Kate of course issued a statement that they weren’t expelled - the school just decided it couldn’t meet their needs, so it asked them to leave and not return.
The twins turn 11 in October. I imagine their teen years won’t be easy. They’ve had temper tantrums with Mady for years. She’s going to be a handful as a teen.
Kate will have a lot of grey hair before all these kids are through their teens. Just thinking of six thirteen year olds in my house scares the crap out of me.
