I’m a 23 year old male and I love music. No, not just any old cookie cooker music that comes around that you hear on the radio all too offten, but I love REAL music. You know, the sort that not only just sounds cool to listen to, but the kind that when you hear it reaches down and really touches your soul.
I’ve found it very rare to hear any of that in the past few years, so bah. Jewel used to do it for me, and her older stuff still does, but with her new album I was disgusted. Enough about that though, as this is all about Katie Melua.
I was looking for an alternative to much of what I hear today, and decided to stretch my sources of my music, aka, look for something outside of the US. So after a bit of searching, I come across Katie Melua’s official web site and I basicly instantly found a brand new obsession. After checking out her music on her site, and seeing how I couldn’t find her music anywhere to purchase, I will admit, I downloaded every track off of her album. I do not noramlly do this, but when it comes to music that I can not hear any other way I break down and do so. Besides, I’ll buy her album as soon as I can, it’s a must on.
As I listened to it, good God, it just blew me away. This young 19 year old from Georgia in the former USSR, now in England, is just simply amazing and I’m letting everyone know about her that I possibly can. I haven’t heard such music that touched me so deep in quite a while, I can’t express in words how much I love her work. She’s signed a five album recording and management contract with Dramatico Entertainment Ltd so lucky me (and all others who are and will become fans of her), will have her for a very long time.

At her web site, it seems that everyone (other than me) who has posted on her guestbook is from overseas, so come on people, let her know that the US does, and will, love her just as much!
