Sorry, at best it’s the exception that proves the rule. Just because Rush disagrees with Bush on immigration or assault weapons bans doesn’t mean he’s not, on balance, a slavish ideologue. And neither does Olbermann get a pass because once every thousand broadcasts or so he criticizes a Dem. If it makes you feel better to say anyone is not one-sided if you can cherry pick a rare exception, feel free. Olbermann and Limbaugh are both close enough.

I agree that he is quite intelligent. He’s made a shit-ton of money. His on-air personality, on the other hand, is dumb as dirt. He’s knowingly peddling ignorance and bad arguments, and it’s a complete canard that the right is simply mean-spirited. It’s willing ignorance that’s harmful, not some tough-minded grit that squirmy folks are afraid to mention in polite company.
The torture debate is a fine example of this nonsense. The right thinks torture is a necessary evil. The left thinks it’s too evil, no matter what. Us sane people in the middle say it’s ineffective, illegal, and sets a horrendous legal precedent that stays with us until a case crops up to overturn it. Both sides have their emotional traps for righteous outrage, and it’s stupid to make an emotional argument to someone who doesn’t share your feelings. That’s why Limbaugh and Olbermann are such anathema to their detractors.

Could the OP do me a favour a throw a link or two our way to show the things he claims in the OP? Redfury has provided a link to him strongly criticising Obama but all you’ve done is given your opinion. That may be valid from your POV but if you want me to buy into it, show me.
I get CNBC, CNN and Fox News on my tv. Olberman’s stuff is quite clearly lefty commentary but it never seems as closeminded and divorced from reality as the stuff I see on Fox on TV or the clips I see from Rush on the web.
Can the OP or somebody else who agrees with him please link to something Olbermann has done to show me what they are talking about? I don’t mean show me he’s a lefty cause duh, we all know that, but show me he “has no idea what he is talking about” or the “only thing he does is bash bush and everybody that was associated with him. Bush did do some things that needed to get bashing on the news but to do this every single show just gets old”, because I just don’t see it. The guy will go after people he thinks are wrong. That’s logically more often the GOP but he’s no-where near as partisan as the big players on the right. If he is there must be loads of clips to prove me wrong. Link to them please.
