Never gonna happen my friend. Enjoy this week.
Very True. Everyone sucks next to THE Ohio State University.
Is it possible we could have an BCS championship with *no * undefeated teams this year?
Just have to say…go BC!

I’m going to give the bonehead a pass on this one (I was there). Redshirt freshman making his first start, and he’d rallied the Bears back from 10 pts down with 4 min to play, to the brink of a tie or better. He said that he thought he had room to run it in–a freshman mistake.
But the Bears are not a #1 team…the offense may be, when everything’s clicking. The defense is just supposed to hold the opponents to < 30 pts, which may not be good enough for a championship team.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Buckeyes lose to Michigan. It doesn’t look like anybody else in the Big 10 is playing particularly well.
As usual, the SEC tears itself apart.
We’re the best conference by far and we just take each other down every year. The Gators are going to get their revenge in the SEC title game against LSU!!!
#$%^ the tigers! Go Gators!
Also, we get to beat Kentucky next weekend
SEC fans are always saying how difficult it is for the NC to come from the SEC, because it’s impossible to run the table. You might want to re-consider the whole divisions/championship game thing. Nobody put a gun to your head and made you split into two divisions.
Speaking of tearing each other down, I’d like to point out that there are now 4 Pac 10 teams in the top 13, and 3 of them have one loss…all inflicted within the conference.
LSU schedules their patsies as well. Everyone does. Schedules are made years in advance. No one can predict when the Big 10 is going to have a down year. Typically this schedule would be tough for OSU. At Michigan, at Penn State, at Minnesota, and at Purdue along with hosting Wisconsin.
Besides, OSU has been one of the few schools willing to schedule non-conference powers. They had home/aways with Texas, the same with USC the next two years, and Miami the two years after that.
Why would I compare LSU’s in conference game with Kentucky with OSU’s out of conference games? LSU’s OOC games include those perennial powers Middle Tennessee State & Tulane along with a tough one, Virginia Tech.
I’m not trying to say OSU’s schedule isn’t weak this year. It is. Buckeye fans know this and is why we figured to not have much of a shot at the NC game. Most Buck fans hate the fact we scheduled Youngstown State, but Jim Tressel had to throw his old school a bone.
Just don’t call it cowardice. We played Texas 2 years running in a home & home. We got home & homes coming up with USC and Miami. It’s just a down year. Ain’t our fault Washington sucks, though they did give USC all they can handle. When is the last time LSU went on the road to play a good OOC school?
Which is why they should not be ranked number one until one of the other undefeated teams, with a tougher schedule, falls. Both Boston College and SFU deserve to be ranked higher.
Among the remaining unbeaten teams this year, I would put Ohio State in roughly the same class as Hawaii or maybe Arizona State, and it should probably have a similar ranking to those teams (taking strength of schedule into account).
We gotta get out of the WAC. There’s no way we’ll every have a respectable strength of schedule staying. It’s so ridiculous to have a conference with teams from Louisiana, Idaho and Hawaii in it. I’d much prefer a 7-5 PAC-12 record then 12-0 in the WAC.
OMG, I can’t believe you just said that. Your anti-Big Ten bias is showing through loud and clear. Are you honestly suggesting that the WAC is equivalent to the Big Ten? I don’t think you’ll find many people who will agree with that, except delusional Hawaii fans.
Boston College has played no one great. Their best win is probably @ Georgia Tech.
South Florida has arguably the best win among the undefeated teams with a win @ Auburn. If they win out, they’ll be in the the National Championship game with a chance to prove they’re the best on the field.
BTW, you missed Kansas. They’re undefeated too. I’m sure they should be ahead of Ohio State also.
It’s USF - say it with me - University of South Florida. The school is in northeast Tampa, which is probably more like central Florida, but that was a political thing. There are satellite branches all over the place here, including Sarasota, St. Petersburg and Lakeland.
USF is #2 in the BCS right now, just behind Ohio State. They are ranked number one by the heartless computer rankings. They play at Rutgers this Thursday night, shown on one of the ESPN stations. They still have to beat Cincinnati and Louisville, neither which is an easy win, plus have Syracuse, Pitt and Connecticut left to play. Frankly I’ll be surprised if they don’t trip up somewhere along the way. No one down here really believes this isn’t some weird dream, although I think they went 9-3 last year then won their bowl game.

Judging from actual results, this year’s Big Ten would be closer in equivalency to the Southern Conference. Of course, that’s not to say they shouldn’t aspire to the WAC level.
True, but at least they’ll have to play some strong teams to get through their schedule undefeated.
:o Sorry. Still getting the hang of seeing y’all ranked. But you clearly deserve the ranking this year.
LSU should still be number one. Let’s see Ohio State play Kentucky, South Carolina, Florida and Va Tech and still be 6-0, or any other team for that matter.
Let LSU come up here and play Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin, and Illinois. They would probably lose at least two if not three of those.
If OSU beats Penn State, Michigan, Illinois, and Wisconisn, in back to back weeks, I will agree that the are the undisputed number one team. But since they’ve played none of these team yet, its really hard to judge their talent based on their schedule to this point.
Why would OSU have to face these teams in consecutive weeks? And why do SEC teams get a pass on their non-conference schedule. Let’s see, LSU faced the powers of Middle Tennessee and Tulane and can look forward to Louisiana Tech. Florida had the fearsome task of facing Western Kentucky and Troy but has to get fired up for that Florida Atlantic game later on. South Carolina played Louisiana-Lafayette and South Carolina State. Alabama and coach Nick Satan played Western Carolina and has Louisiana-Monroe left. Georgia had Western Carolina and has Troy left. I find these non-conference games quite underwhelming.
OSU has to play them back to back to back to back because that’s how they are on their schedule this year.
I think the top SEC schools play weaker non conference schedules because chances are at least 5 of their 8 conference games will be against a ranked team, and one or two more against bowl teams. Also, LSU played a top 5 Va Tech, and So. Carolina will be playing a bowl team in Clemson.
OSU’s top non conference game- a 5-7 at best Washington team. LSU, a Top 5 Va. Tech team.
I don’t get it. Why invite teams other than Duke?
You’re right about OSU’s schedule, I thought you implied that yes they play these teams but it doesn’t count cause they’re not consecutive.
I don’t think the SEC’s excuse for soft non-conference games is any more valid than the Big Ten’s. Generally, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, and Wisconsin are going to be ranked and in addition several Big Ten teams have Notre Dame regularly on their schedules and though they stink this year are traditionally a good team. I would love to see SEC-Big Ten matchups but the trouble is that few teams from the major conferences are willing to do home and home games. It’s hard to resist playing all your non-conference games at home.
