Kerry has conceded

No, it’s the “God” bit too, at least for me. The implication that Bush rules by divine right, the implication that the Almighty is a registered Republican, the implication that the Bush Regime has some sort of holy mandate. Implicit in that is that Democrats are somehow less deserving of God’s love, somehow less equal in the eyes of the Lord.

That’s just insulting.

Or maybe I’m reading too much into it. Rage’ll do that.

Why the fuck would anyone admire either Jackson or Bush? You just don’t get it. I’m not in favor of fucking idiot whore Bush; I’m pissed at you hapless leftist fucks for fucking it all up yet again. Your damn shrill self-righteous taunts and ridicule of people who disagree with you — screaming homophobe! at people who weren’t afraid of you before until you jumped out from a dark alley and started heckling them. Dumbass.

Grateful for what? Was Psycho Pirate’s God responsible for the reelection of George Bush?

IIRC it was 13, although I hope I’m wrong.

Apparently, you’re not paying attention. The people gloating voted for Bush’s homophobic agenda, which is why I’m pissed. My being pissed now didn’t make them vote for Bush yesterday. Learn to read the arrow of causality.

Sheep. That’s how I’ve been describing the people who fall for Bush’s bullshit. I don’t understand how any thinking person can vote for that man. I’m so sad for this country, I can’t even tell you. :frowning:

Is there any room in Canada for me? If I move to Cornwall, Ont., I’ll only be 30 minutes away from my parents in Northern NY.

Gah. I’m being lectured on reading by a blind man. Learn to read the signs of the times.

See, this is what gets me. When others are NOT concerned about how their witness affects. I don’t think it does any good to simply preach to the choir and if you don’t come across and sincerely interested in someone else’s well-being, than whatever information you have to offer is discarded. Surely, that can’t be the intent. And, perhaps it’s just me, but I prefer being held accountable to different humans and their standards, (IE: the global community) rather than simple self-government. A lot of times, that leads to attrocities in the name of righteousness, disdain for the unknown or untried and unchecked rampant oppression. That’s a frightening attitude to have and protect.

Something else… I’m not in the least offended about the invocation of God. However, what is off-putting is the general idea that your (not specifically)theories usurp those of anyone else. That arrogance is what makes folks like me fight for more than one possibility. Because there are many, who feel just as stridently that THEY follow the “one, true higher power” and what you’ve chosen to follow may in fact be predicated by where you were born. You may worship another only, supreme “God” if you were raised in China. A Christian might bear a lot of repression there. I’d hope there would be a fight to protect their rights too.

YMM obviously V.

Yes, actually, if you live in America, he is.

It was a good fight, on both sides, and sadly for some, Kerry did not prevail. It’s simple, it’s over, and it’s done. God, who or what ever you imagine him/her/it to be had nothing whatsoever to do with it.

Mourn for a time, that your man didn’t make it, but the people have spoken. Time’s now to step up and work together, to see that those precious liberties stay right in the hands of those same people.

Insulting Bush voters is akin to being insulted for voting for Kerry. It’s obtuse to do so. If you think people voting for bush are ‘sheep’ because they back someone and believe in something, then Kerry voters are also ‘sheep’ for doing the same thing, it only matters who the shepherd is.

Agree or disagree, right or wrong, Bush is in. Now is the time to stay strong and active. Voting is something you do one day, being active in the politics of your country is something you have the opportunity to do the remaining 364.

I can imagine God answering your insanity with this:

**When did I teach you to support a mass murderer? **

Salaam. A

Huh?

What beaches do you mean? Unless it’s something I’m not seeing, California beach communities are hardly homophobic.

Actually, Cornwall’s not bad to visit, but you might prefer to live in quaint Long Sault, just a few kilometres up the road. Cornwall’s got an especially high cancer rate, and a paper mill that releases all kinds of nasty stuff at ground level that makes the town smell sometimes (a coincidence, I’m sure). Long Sault is upwind and upriver, and is fillled with pleasant elderly people and a few young families. I even think there’s housing up for sale.

(I lived in Long Sault last winter. )

So you actually claim that it by ordering the invasion of sovereign nations and killing thousands and thousands of innocent people, Bush brought them peace at the order of God? The peace of death? The peace of war? The peace of occupation?
That by doing this Bush follows the law of God?

Which God are you talking about?
Salaam. A

Well, yeah, there’s that. But California is a bit of a drive from Boston.

Vitriol and rhetoric are meaningless. Especially when the vitriol and rhetoric are false. If you can show me one person that Mr. Bush has personally murdered, much less the amount of people it would take to amount to "Mass’’ murder, I will eat my hat.

Your comeback will likely start with “well he SENT troops to do his murdering”

Hogwash.

If Bush is a mass murder, then every American President, with the possible exception of Jimmy Carter, is also, and it’s likely that John Kerry would have also been. This is the way things are done. No country in the world is governed by inert ideaology, it takes the practical application of laws, sometimes with aggressive action, to govern any country of people. No where is that more clear than in the Middle East.

You ain’t kidding! Whenever we go across the border for dinner at Jack Lee’s, the stench from the paper mill can be unbareable.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Man, I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time. You guys crack me up. There have been many claims by dopers that we should not let fear dictate our actions, and yet there are a lot of chicken littles chirping their heads off right about now :stuck_out_tongue:

Sunshine patriots, I guess!

While I appreciate the gist of this well thought post, all this pie in the sky shit is just that. Shit. We can talk in these vague concepts and happy ideals, but the reality is this country was just chiseled in half and we’re totally fucked.

Unofrtunately, one of the signs says, “Eve is not a first-class, welcome citizen in her own country.”

Y’know, World Eater, I was gonna ask you that same question. I wonder, in the midst of all this “nausea” and “devastation”, if any anti-Bushies ever thought, just once, for the slightest of nano-seconds, that maybe their guy lost because their opinions were poorly made?

Is it really crazy to stop and think, “Wait, maybe I was wrong”?

Remember… dogma doesn’t require a god.

Gobear, I wish that, in the past year, you had left me with an impression that you WOULDN’T be gloating had Kerry won.
