If you were to say the phrase “ketchup and eggs,” my immediate reaction is digits. But then I have a second thought: I don’t mind ketchup with French toast or omelettes.
But boiled, fried, poached, or scrambled eggs? No way. Barf.
Weird.

Weird.
“bleach”…? “digits”…?
Someone is cooking their eggs all wrong.
I think he meant “blech” (a gagging sound). Unfortunately there aren’t universally acceptable spellings yet for gutteral noises. Witness how “duh” is sometimes spelled “d’oi.”
I’m blaming autocorrect. I certainly meant “blech.”
I also don’t understand the “digits” part, but from what I can tell, this is better suited to Cafe Society. Thread relocated from IMHO.
Disgust.
Ketchup with scrambled eggs is fine (though sriracha is better), but ketchup with French toast? That just sounds bizarre to me.
Fried eggs only. The only sauce that you can have on an omelette is the oyster sauce based one for Chinese omelettes.
Far be it for me to cast aspersions on someone else’s tastes but I would consider that an . . . odd pairing. You don’t find the ketchup doesn’t play well with the sweetness of the french toast?
To add to the chorus, French toast and ketchup? Weirdo.
I don’t like ketchup with any type of egg. Now, hot sauce on the other hand…
I guess I should be clearer. To me French toast is a savory dish. Bread dipped in egg and pan fried.
Savory elements like salt, cilantro, onions, green chilis, and tomato are optional. No sugar, no dairy, no syrup.
Thank you.
My grandfather was a huge advocate of ketchup and eggs. While I never did it regularly, I think the combination actually tastes pretty good (though, like others, I prefer hot sauce).
Now, ketchup and mac 'n cheese? That’s tasty (but also even better with hot sauce).
When I was a kid we always had ketchup with French toast. To me, it’s completely normal, and pretty darned tasty!

Ketchup is OK on a hotdog. I can’t imagine putting it on anything else. Especially that sugary crap that is what most people think of when they think of ketchup. But hey, whatever floats your boat. 'Saul Good-man.
And I am even weirder. I eat BBQ sauce with my eggs.
Learn something new every day! I had no idea that savory french toast was a thing. This opens up a whole new vista of dinner ideas.
I hate ketchup.
But for some reason, put it on scrambled eggs, and it is nearly divine. No idea why!
See, for me, ketchup is just made for a hamburger, either in the form of ketchup itself, or as part of “burger sauce,” (sweet or dill relish, mayo, ketchup, and mustard or some variant thereof. Mustard is optional.) My standard toppings are pickle, mustard, onion, and ketchup is a nice sweet counterpoint to the sour ingredients, and adds a nice umami kick that works well with the greasy beef. Now, with that logic, I should also like it on hot dogs, but, for whatever reason, I don’t.
Ah, today I accomplished something good!
Yes. Sigh. Curses autocorrect!!
