That sounds painful. Why not you be playing “Blockblister Video” instead? Is better- MUCH better!
Glad Spongebob has a nice following. I must Second… or fifth, or tenth it. I own both Season 1 and 2 sets. Patrick has nice comments at times. Other times the Timing is superb. (“I bet next you’ll want me to go square dancing with Patrick!” - “Sorry Patrick” — “Patrick!! what are you doing here?” - “I thought the corp would straighten out my life sir!”)
Sesame Street / Other Muppet programs - Movies (They are by the same people… then Disney had to buy them out.) Full of references that kids don’t even understand.
I like Blake Holsley also, but the plot is really getting old (Some new science phenom, but follow the same line… much like Inspector gadget) But the soap opera of it all has me wanting to see more.
Fairly Odd Parents seems to have a lot of throw away jokes. It is also heavy on stating something that shouldn’t be. The parents often say things that they shouldnt know about. – Also tell me the Timmy Ball episode was not taken from Calvin ball… Then again, Vicky and Rosalyn…
Jimmy Neutron and Rugrats. Again Quotes that kids wouldnt get:
JN: How can I make three months of my life disapear?
Sheen: Summer School, Trust me.
Rugrats:
Phil “Why does Reptar think he can rule the world” ((Something similar to this))
Lil “Because he breathes fire?”
Rugrats is great, how they flub the names of things is cool… The First Grade kit… for First aid kit. Blocky and Oxwinkle… NO rugrat target audience will get the Blocky and Oxwinkle reference. (If you havent seen it, it Spoofs Jay Ward 8 ways to sunday)
I really liked the one time Angelica flubs The Jury for The Jerky… Phil and Lil then ask “The Jury?” and Angelica then “corrects” them again -No, the jerky!!
Not seen as often anymore, but Rocko’s Modern Life also was great.
“We’re sorry, the has been delayed due to Police activity”
And Today’s Police Activity is: Arts and Crafts!
Ok, I could go on all day with this.
Also, Im just 22… Where does that put me in all of this ?
Uh Oops, GMTA Mobo… Basically all of the shows youve listed I agree with. The others, I havent seen.
Arthurs “Lasgne Taj Mahal” was great
Zuboom iubs oubk iubn smuball duboses.
Blockblister… Blockbuster and Nick are both owned by Viacom. Not a coincidence that All that spoofed Blockbuster over Hollywood. --The “first” All That beats any second gen All that by lightyears. "Look at my swinging jewel.
----Need to Correct this:
Not seen as often anymore, but Rocko’s Modern Life also was great.
“We’re sorry, the subway train has been delayed due to Police activity”
And today’s police activity is Arts and Crafts
The following is a long and convoluted explanation of a joke.
Yeah. I know that. I was just poking fun at Dung Beetle’s comment “We still play ‘Hillbilly Moment.’” Obviously, Dung and kids play it in jest (only pretending to hit each other with stuff), but if it were to be done realistically, it would be much more painful.
For those of you not familiar with the Amanda Show, the average Hillbilly Moment sketch is as follows:
ANNOUNCER: It’s time for a Hillbilly Moment!
FEMALE HILLBILLY: Knock knock!
MALE HILLBILLY: Who’s there?
FEMALE HILLBILLY: [item]
MALE HILLBILLY: [item] who?
FEMALE HILLBILLY: I’m gonna hit you in the head with a [item]!
(does so, both hillbillies laugh)
MALE HILLBILLY: That’s a good 'un!
Again, if was done not in jest, it would be quite painful, thus a simpler, less painful sketch would be a replacement. I chose “Blockblister” since the foreigners who run that unusual store always claim their low-budget ripoffs of popular films are “better, much better” than the real thing. Thus, this game would be “much better” and less painful than getting hit in the head with large objects. That’s the joke. Understand?
That’s it, court dismissed. Bring in the dancing lobsters!
mobo, I started to reply, “MAR-har!”, but then I was afraid I’d have to come back and try to explain that one to all the non-Amanda-Show people…and as your post shows, the humor is a bit hard to translate from TV show to message board.
I like eggs!
(Translation: I understand completely and agree that televisual humor is hard to translate into textual form. Also, I like eggs.)
I’ll do it, eventually!!!
