“Going to be, going to be!”
NieceCadfael has a masters’ in linguistics. You have to get up pretty early to catch her out on anything related.
Definitely some major similarities! (Kids and Time Travel, whodathunk?) Hard to tell if it was influence or coincidence, tho. According to Wiki, Voyagers! inspired the Quantum Leap idea.
Voyagers was meant to be a mix of educational TV with fiction. Edutainment, I think someone called it. It’s only downfall was being in the same time slot as 60 Minutes. It’s second season was scrapped for a short lived TV news magazine show to compete with 60M, which failed terribly.
It includes the great line (spoken by McCoy) along the lines of regretting he hooked up Spock’s mouth/vocal cords.
Next stop:* Kung Fu*
The Modern Graphics include more buttons on McCoy’s Spock Remote.
“‘Brain’ and ‘brain’! What is ‘brain’?”
“I am sorry. I … do not wish … to make trouble!”
“It’s the Supreme Being, AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!”
Mr Boozilu often makes fun of “Spock’s Brain”, but one of our favorite catchphrases is
“A child could do it!” in McCoy’s exaggerated drawl.
My nomination for worst episode – “Squire of Gothos”
Not Q, Jr!
Trelane is Q Jr. and I don’t care if it’s not canon. Peter David wrote it so it is true.
The only quibble I have with “Squire” is the mixed-up history Trelane cites. Otherwise, it was a good episode, and the guest space babe was a really hot blonde!
Pardon?
This chick, right here:
And here, too:
Curse these slow hands!
Thanks. I did not recall the character.
Here’s another picture of her from “The Monkees.” She was just scrumptious!

I think the new effects look great, and not intrusive at all. They come off as what the original production team would have done if they could.
Cropping for fake widescreen would of course be butchery; where is that happening?
