Kids have started watching Star Trek TOS and like it

Also, they were pancakes, not pizzas.

With the revamped special effects, you can no longer see the pieces of pepperoni.

That is wise.

I am shedding an Elasian tear for you. If only my son would follow in the path of Trekdom.

[Best Shatner voice]: What is that … a promise he won’t post us? Or a plea for us not to post him? :dubious:

They’re aigs, aren’t they?

Yes, Captain, eggs.

Surrender Dorothy?

I have a fond memory of being the only one to stump a ST:TOS trivia panel at a con – a bit surprising, since I thought the question was relatively easy (“What character tried to bribe his way out of the Enterprise brig?”)

Trek Dopers could stump D.C. Fontana.

Depends on whether she saw it as an undermining of Vulcan ritual or an expeditious way out of an unfortunate situation. I suspect the latter – IMO, her explanation “She [T’Pring] has the right [to demand the challenge]” had the displeased undertone of someone statating (for example) that Nazis have the right of hold public marches or obviously guilty pedophiles have the right to a vigorous legal defense.

An old Trek Doper Trivia game thread.

Harry Mudd? :dubious:

Tango was the name of Pike’s horse.

The human form of Isis was played by Barbara Baldavin, who was Angela in “Balance of Terror” and “Shore Leave,” and Lt. Leeza in “Turnabout Intruder.”

Kirk was played by at least one actor other than Shatner: Sandra Smith in “Turnabout Intruder.”

Kirk was given the middle name “Tiberius” by Dorothy Fontana.

I think Lt. Kyle was also on board the Reliant in ST II.

Ah … so many questions, so little time…

The alternate universe Kirk.

First of all, what makes you think there are any lifeforms higher than insects?

Second, what makes you think that humans are one of them?

Third, of the various dominant species on this planet, most of them don’t have several of the traits you consider essential. In fact, bacteria don’t have any of them, except possibly symmetry.

And fourth, the survival advantage of having compound eyes is being able to see. Which is the same survival advantage of having focusing eyes. Why should one be preferred over the other, beyond the fact that one happened to show up to be selected for in a particular line and the other didn’t?

Aha! :smack:

But Mudd tried it too, in “Mudd’s Women.” Kirk had pretty much given into his demands (relayed through the miners) when Eve chose to run out into the dust storm.

Though I guess that qualifies more as a case of out-and-out blackmail, doesn’t it…? :frowning:

I, for one, welcome our new insect overlords!

All joking aside, your points are good ones. Our questions will be answered … eventually.

She didn’t, IMHO, have the right. She was a little schemer who really didn’t want James T. or Spock; She wanted Stonn (sp?), a weasely-looking Vulcan if I ever saw one. Everybody got what they wanted. James T. got his BFF back. Spock got to hit it and quit it, and T’pau got her boy toy.

Bingo on Tango.

Memory Alpha has Human Isis as Victoria Vetri. She’s a killer, ain’t she?

I can’t remember what I was going for with the Kirk question, but I will say correct.

The confusion on Isis may be a character name/stage name issue. Victoria Vetri also is credited as Angela Dorian on other shows. Barbara Baldavin plays the character Angela Martine in several TOS eps.
