Kids in the Hall DVD!

I was thumbing through Entertainment Weekly recently and was thrilled to see that the first season of Kids in the Hall is coming out on DVD. I saw them in Seattle during their last tour, and they were absolutely amazing live. I’ve been waiting (very impatiently) for both KITH and Seinfeld to come out on DVD.
Anyway, feel free to appreciate KITH here!

“He appears to be having diff-iculty passing the salt”

Hey son, you know how you’ve always wanted that puppy? Well I bought you one, but on the way home I got hungry and ate him! Heh, just kidding, I would never buy you a puppy…

Daddy drank.

I crush your tiny head!

never put salt in your eyes. . .never put salt in your eyes. . .alway. . .never, never put salt in your eyes. . .always never put salt in your eyes. . .always. . .always put salt in your eyes. . .always put salt in your eyes. . .
AAAAgh!

These are the Daves I know I know, these are the Daves I know.

I am the guy who appreciates Menstruation.

As-cer-tain!

30 Helens Agree. Running Faggot was one of the most side-splittingly funny skits ever recorded.

Sorry about all the cancer.

Oh, sorry, I’m an axe murderer…

Ah, fond memories of KITH on HBO. I remember watching the first Buddy sketch and being literally convulsed with laughter. I don’t think I’d ever been in pain from laughing before.

“But first, the whores…”

Seriously, the KitH DVD is a must-own.

Can’t buy the KiTH DVD without a whole lotta milka

“I’ve got seven things to do today”

<singing> “Odey oten doten day, odey oten day-o, odey oten doten day, fattening up our tapeworms…”

“This would never happen if Elvis was my landlord.”

“I’ve got a spike through my head, a spike through my head, a spike through my head…”

“I’m not powerful because I have the monkeys. I’m powerful because I’ll let the monkeys loose!”

“Hi, I’m Nina from Joymaker!”

Your meeting has been changed to Gessellentday

The triumphant return of the It’s A Fact girl is a good thing.

And the Armani furriers. “Ah, let zat one go. 'E 'as spirit!”

Mom, in France kids are drunk. It’s true, in France every kid is forced to drink a bottle of wine with every meal, and also, they just stare off because there are no TV sets there.

“These kids? At school? They smoke! They taught a dog to smoke!”

OK, just found it’s available now at http://store.kidsinthehallondvd.com/kidsinhalldvds.html

Any opinions on whether or not the first season is worth purchase? I’ve probably seen some skits/episodes from that long ago, but can’t discern very well…

There is a episode guide here that is quite detailed (it looks like it lists each sketch in the episodes). From what I can remember of the sketches listed in season one, the DVD should be well worth the purchase. You’ve got Cabbagehead, 30 Helens, Buddy Cole, Fran & Gordon, The Daves I Know, Elvis as a landlord, Running Faggot, Nina from Joymakers, Cathy & Kathy (AT & Love) …
