Kill me. Please: 7th Heaven 12/12

Wow. I watch the show from time to time and I know it’s horrid and campy and preachy and full of unwanted children and magic cookies that cure everything from date rape to the common cold, but… my god… Tonight’s Xmas episode is just excruciating!
Who is the brunette (not Hilary Duff’s horsier-faced sister- the other one)? Is she supposed to be Jewish or agnostic (or retarded)? Where on earth did she grow up that she didn’t have Xmas shoved down her throat every single year (and yeah, I know, Santa overrides Jesus, but she’d have to be deaf and dumb to not even know about the wise men)?
It seems like the Camdens will be crucified for the finale- literally- based on all the martyr talk this episode (“They make each other presents… sniff…” I wanted to yell “Mary’s a whore!”)
Uggh, will me… or find my remote…

I agree, they’ve messed up the story so much, it’s a crazy family-oriented soap opera. But at the same time I can’t help but watch - it’s like a trainwreck. I’ll be watching the last 11 episodes to see how they end the series since I used to be an avid watcher in the early years.

My daughter watches it religiously (haw haw haw!), so I catch it by osmosis. I was in and out of the room very sparingly during tonight’s episode, but I must say that my impression was that this episode was a little over the top in it’s portrayal of Simon’s betrothed.

My other comment on the show? Ruthie has turned out to be the hottest of the three sisters. Even on a show where everybody is beautiful, she’s grown up to be striking.

Rose isn’t Jewish or retarded, she’s just terribly self-absorbed and Biblically ignorant (she may have some idea about the Nativity but it’s never been a matter of useful knowledge to her & thus not not available for sudden recall)- AND YET, there was that dinner she made, so maybe there is hope.

I’m just glad that after 10 years of this show, Jesus gets a mention for the third time AND the Camdens finally succeed in converting someone- and who better than Sandy? (Well, except for Matt’s wife & in-laws. )

I was gonna open a “YAY! CAMDEN CHRISTIANITY FINALLY MAKES A CONVERT!” thread.

I was so hoping that Rose’s “Jesus & Santa” revelation to the Twins would be the final strew. Odd that Annie was more upset about Rose’s denial of Santa, but then again, the Camdens have a lot of non-C’tian friends- especially the local rabbi & imam.
