Kim Jong-il is a fucking loser

This guy is totally out to lunch.

What the fuck do we do with this guy? We should find a way to get his finger off the button for just a second, and then bitchslap him into the void.

Sounds like Stalin reincarnated. Pathetic.

Stalin or Chairman Mao reincarnated is it exactly.

This guy’s antics would be funny if it weren’t for the death and misery he’s caused and threatened to cause.

How long til the people of NK rise up? Wonder if they hear the stories that we do and if they believe them of think he’s batshit insane like the rest of the world does?

Worse, to my mind at least, is N. Korea stopping relief supplies from S. Korea. There are thousands wounded and dying without medical treatment available, and they’re refusing relief supplies because they come from the south? Criminally crazy.

I can’t even imagine what it must be like to live somewhere like this. As much as I like to bitch about our country and our own exalted leader–at least I don’t have to walk around with his monkey-mug plastered to my chest all day.
As to the “heroic deaths”, am I overly-cynical for thinking that this sounds like a bunch of propagandist bullshit?

So what is the world going to do about this guy? (in reality nothing, but let’s fantasize).

He makes SH look like a swell guy.

I read the link below awhile back, it’s a very fascinating, highly detailed account of a guy who went to NK.

There was an interesting segment on , I believe it was BBC news 24, showing North Korean television clips from the day after the accident.

There were nice views of mountains, some very sincere sounding lady described as praising Kim Jong-Il and not a word about the huge explosion.

The BBC news website offers this:

description of North Korean Media

which is both fascinating and horrifying.

I wonder what the rumours were like though?

Can’t get Yahoo up–what’s the gist of the story?

In re: NK television–during the “sunshine policy” era SBS showed an hour of NK TV a week. It was pretty ghastly stuff, mostly wildly sycophantic praise of Kim Jong-Il on newscasts and children doing gymnastics in huge auditoriums, usually performing stunts like having with more praise of the Dear Leader.

etc etc etc

how? They have no weapons, and can be starved out at any time. Heck, many of them are starving now. What are they going to do, die all over him?

Thanks, World Eater. Yep, sounds like typical cult of personality nonsense.

These nuts should all take a page out of Ghadaffi’s (sp?) book and come clean. For some reason I’ve seen him all over the place lately, flashing some million dollar Joe Nameth smile, and hanging out with all these world leaders.

Nice move on his part, it seems to have worked out well for the loony bastard.

Nor I could I. And precisely for this reason, I’m not fully convinced that :

the “heroic deaths”,[…are…] a bunch of propagandist bullshit?
[/QUOTE]

I’m considering it could actually be true…

Anecdotically, I once worked in a library. For reasons totally unkown to us (we were specialized in legal, social, psychological, etc…issues related to handicapped people and in particular childrens and teen-agers), we received on a regular basis the french version of a North-Korean propaganda review. It was really beautiful (hence I suppose costly), and of course full of blatant bullshit. I don’t really understand what exactly they hoped to achieve by sending this to us.
We also received the complete hardbound works of Kim-Il-Sung (When I left, we had already received the tome 20 or 30, can’t remember exactly, and there certainly were many more to come, since their content dated back to the late 60’s or early 70’s). They included a lot of very enlightening and deeply interesting stuff. Typically : “Speech by the great leader Kim-Il-Sung at Someplace’s fish factory on February 17 1969”.

World Eater, you left out the best part!

Really?

We need to discover *oil * under North Korea! Maybe we should invade and then check for any oil – you know, just in case.

:smack: Sorry about that, I found that hysterical too.

Zoinks! That’s pure idolatry!

I agree, and the guy knows how to write a great blog of his trip. Thanks for digging that link up.

That reason could have something to do with all the lobbying UK and US oil companies have been doing - Oh, and him “giving up” WMDs he didn’t have anyway.

Blair at least seems to have thought this was a good substitute for finding WMDs in Iraq (Unfortunately the British public and media still associate him with the Lockerbie bombing, arming the IRA and the killing of Policewoman Yvonne Fletcher - and just generally being a mad, murderous bastard)

It’s not like supporting loony despots has ever led to trouble in the past or anything…
Or like he’s just made a speech threatening a return to terrorism if he doesn’t get exactly what he wants… Oh, he has, oh well I’m sure our leaders know what they’re doing…
