l want to look at Pdf and other attachments, but nothing seems to work
Touched attachment file name. Got message that it was downloading, but I can’t find a file under ‘docs’, or anyplace even called ‘downloads’.
Downloaded Adobe Reader app, imstructions say to hit ''view" button next to paperclip icon. No such button. Says to bookmark attachment and open that, but bookmarks just reopens email.
Google Mobile help says it can view attachments, but doesn’t say how. When I hold down on file name, there is no view option, and open either does nothing or downloads a file I cant find.
To clarify, you emailed [Your username]@free.kindle.com to get it to your phone?
You may also try to transfer it with a USB cable. I find it less of a hassle.
Download ES File Explorer (free in App store), use it to locate and run the file.
If you want to convert it, particularly to read as a book, download Calibre and convert to .mobi. If you want to have it also be in "Books and not “Docs”, Under Convert>MOBI Output tab>Personal doc tag, then delete that text.
In the default Mail application, I open the email, click the PDF icon to download it, and click it again, where it gives a prompt to open it with a couple programs. It also saves in /Download/Adobe Reader/
In Silk, I scroll down to the attachment, hit it. It ends up in /Download/
Keep in mind, different Kindle etc. Also, make sure that it actually downloads and isn’t stuck in the middle. I don’t know if it will move to the folder immediately upon starting. Click the “Menu” button (half piece of paper or 3 horizontal lines surrounded on top, left, right sides by another line). Look in downloads to check the status.
