Maybe she’s just sick of hearing about the banana.
To witness what?
Heh heh heh.
You got something better to do?
This is his way of proving homosexuality is a choice.
I’m straight, and I’ve been in gay bars a few times.
Yeh, but unless you’re a well-known fundamentalist Christian and outspoken against teh ghay, doing so would go beyond hypocrite and directly into douchebaggery of the highest order.
No, they don’t almost always turn out to be true. And even when there’s some truth to them, it’s usually just that: a grain of truth inside a cloud of overblown dramatics. They’re free to exaggerate because they’re not naming names.
(Assuming it is Kirk…) Kirk Cameron and his wife seem to be of the ultra-conservative stripe of Christianity that would find simply being in a bar to be scandalous. I could see him being locked out of his home for simply being caught in a bar, even if he genuinely had no clue the bar in question was a gay bar or not.
Spoken from experience with ultra-conservative Christianity. Cooking with wine, even using Dijon mustard, is scandalous. If you’re seen by a fellow church-goer at a grocery with a bottle of vodka sauce for your pasta dinner, you’ll probably be taken aside by the pastor that Sunday. Seen entering a movie theater or dance studio, you’re in trouble. That kind of thing.
Perhaps, like people in this thread, she mistakenly assumes since he went to a gay bar he must have been there guzzling cock.
Yeah. me too. Well, at least I’ll be hoping it’s true.
Eh, I’m dubious. Despite confirmation bias that seems to indicate otherwise, most religious conservatives are not secretly gay. Cameron is opposed to homosexuality as part of his religion but I don’t see him to be particularly preoccupied with it.
I could be wrong, but I see it more likely that either it’s a different celebrity altogether or the whole incident has been misrepresented.
I would consider them to be very conservative, but not “ultra-conservative.” That is, not to the point that merely being caught in a bar would get somebody locked out of his home. Chelsea Noble’s manner of dress, for example, would argue against being ultra-conservative. She dresses in a reasonably modest way without going to any extremes.
Speaking as someone who also has experience with conservative Christianity, I’d consider that to be an exaggeration. Cooking with wine might conceivably be considered distasteful, but it would hardly be “scandalous.” For that matter, I seriously doubt that ultra-conservatives in general would take that approach to cooking with wine in general. Drinking wine, yes, but cooking with wine? I seriously doubt it.
foolsguinea is right. People are getting excited about an unsupported rumor – one which, in its original form, did not even name Kirk Cameron at all. Calm down, folks.
I figure that somehow it was his computer’s fault.
If the article didn’t mention the wife, I’d assume it was about Kirk’s co-star Leonardo DiCaprio.
The article mentioned the celeb was “uber-conservative,” and Leo’s not exactly known for being a supporter of conservative causes.
Obviously, it was Alan Thicke.
A theocon’s holy and pious
But political judgment is biased
By his mind filled with floods
Of the cries of hung studs:
“Come into the closet and try us!”
Plus, then I get to make this bad joke:
His marriage may have been fireproof, but I guess it wasn’t flamer-proof!
For those with no clue what I’m on about.
Despite the popularity of this picture I can’t imagine Leo as being gay. He strikes me as someone who enjoys the ladies.
