Kirk Cameron caught in a gay bar??

IF it was Kirk, I guarantee that his explanation will be that he was doing research for some project.

Just watch.

Sorry, I’m not interested enough in Kirk Cameron to watch. My sense, however, is that unless someone asks him directly if the item was about him, he won’t ever mention it.

And if they do ask him, he’ll deny all knowledge of it.

I have to say, the phrase used in the original - “spotted” - is fairer than the one used in the OP - “caught” - which implies there is something shameful about being seen in a gay bar.

Your point about the Camerons not being ultra-conservative is probably right, but your point about my characterization being an “exaggeration” isn’t. There’s a reason I added an “ultra-” to the front of the word conservative, because I recognize that it’s an extreme even for conservatives, but such is the religious environment in which I was raised.

A couple of examples: my mom’s position as a Sunday school teacher was almost terminated over a big to-do about having offered a white-wine mustard for sandwiches at a meeting, and I’ve recently been watching a distant cousin getting publicly shamed by his family and church friends on Facebook over a status update regarding his wife cooking a wine-based pasta sauce.

Just in case you haven’t seen the banana bit yet:

Maybe the fact he’s spotted is why he’s never shown his nipples.

…or that he’s a famous British desert?

Gotta disagree with you on that point.

I acknowledge that “ultra-” does denote some extremism. My point is that I don’t consider the behavior that you described to be characteristic even of ultra-conservatives, though some surely do behave in that manner.

The only time I’m ever in gay bars is when I’m walking through them to get to the gay restaurant.

Aha! So he IS gay!!

Oh…you probably meant that another way.

Is there a watch list somewhere online that tracks ultra-conservative, anti-gay public figures, and just waits to see which one will come out of the closet next? I’d think someone would have put it together by now…

The pit

It depends on what kind of bar it was. I worked with a guy who was a singer and many straight men and women went to hear him sing, and he sang in a gay bar.

Just for fun if it ISN’T Kirk, then who else would fit.

The only other one I think of off hand is Michael J Fox, as his character was conservative.

David Archuleta was seen in a gay bar earlier this year. He says he was there to watch a performance. I actually believe him since in addition to being from a Mormon family he has by most accounts a domineering (and prostitute patronizing) father who probably has convinced him his wee-wee isn’t to be touched until after his second child is born, so even he is gay (and he reads way into the pink on the gaydar) it’s highly unlikely he’s dealt with it.
Admittedly the fact that the person he was there to see was Filipino sensation and Glee guest star Charice doesn’t exactly speak volumes as to his heterosexuality, but the point is that he probably wasn’t there to hook up. In the unlikely event Cameron went to one I doubt he was there to get some banana action going.

His wife locking him out makes me think it wasn’t the first time. That’s too abrubt and extreme to just be a misunderstanding.

Doubt it all you want but you obviously haven’t met my mother. She’s a sweet little gray-haired Southern Baptist lady but I will never forget the time my brother used red wine in his pasta sauce and she found out.

You would have thought she caught him burying a dead hooker in her backyard from the scandal that ensued.

And, I really have never felt the gay vibe from Kirk Cameron either.

I love that Dio has latched on to this part of the story and keeps repeating it as if Alan Thicke himself declared it completely, 100% true.

I’ve had too many gay guys tell me independantly that not only is Leo gay, but he is very, very busy at it.

Hmmm . . . Do you think he’d like to meet a nice older guy?

It would be more shocking if Cameron was “caught” in a library or a bookstore.
