Kirk Cameron's 150th Anniversary ORIGIN OF SPECIES (expurgated, the one without the gannet)

It’s not lying if it’s for Baby Jesus.

No success to report. They’re gone. I have had a chance to briefly scan a copy, however. Several of the Biology professors have one. I don’t know what has been expurgated, but the God-bothering, proselytizing Introduction looks to be about 1/10 of the entire book.

The worst part is the earnestness. They spend a lot of time and money and distribute however many thousands of these and do they think they’re going to make so much as one convert who wouldn’t have been converted by the first Chick tract he or she picked up? The biology students who are already devout Christians are probably rolling their eyes harder than the ones who are atheists at the nincompoopery of the assertions. The same money and time could have been used to do something worthwhile or at least fun.

In one of the Ask the Former Mormon threads a former missionary said that while the Mormon missionaries make extremely few converts- especially few who last more than a flirtation period with the church- the biggest advantage to the Mormon church is that the youth who participate feel so much more vested in the church. I can only assume this is the same sort of deal- it’s to make the Comfort/Cameron enthusiasts feel they did something. I’m wondering if Comfort and Cameron know this or are really that benighted.

I got one! (At UW Seattle.)

“Banana” isn’t Arabic, it’s Wo…

Damnit, Kimstu! Just when I think I know something that no one else (reading the thread) knows, you’ve gotta come in and drop some obscure knowledge. My knowledge of Wolof is how I impress girls at parties! Now what am I gonna do?

:: puts away 20pg paper from college on Wolof::

Stupid Dopers…always stealing my thunder…:mumble mumble sulk:

Does the centerfold show Kirk’s nipples?

No, but there’s a photograph of the Garden of Eden. And 16 different words for banana.

Maybe Kirk Cameron’s nipples are shaped like bananas?
