"Kiss" lyrics

During the bridge of his song “Kiss”, Prince sings something that all the lyric sites I’ve seen render as “Little girl Wendy’s parade”. Then again, these sites uniformly render the line from “One Nation Under a Groove” as “hang out very late” rather than “hang-up alleyway”. Is “Little girl Wendy’s parade” accurate? If not, what is it really? If so, what the hell does it mean?

Is it an intro to a solo by Wendy Melvoin, by any chance?

Questions about song lyrics usually do best in the Cafe Society forum, so I’ll move this thread over there.

Ah. My mistake. Thanks.

Well, Wendy Melvoin played guitar on Parade, the album that “Kiss” came out on… thin, man, very thin.
