Today I went to my mom’s voodoo doctor. Not because I suddenly believed in energy healing, but because he’d just moved to a farm and I’d heard he had some interesting animals.
Including kittens.
There were two of them, really small, the age where they fit into your hand. One was a girl and one was a boy, and I helped put a collar on the boy so people could tell them apart.
The boy was really friendly. He fell asleep in my hands. (That is, he was lying on his back in my hands, and playing with my hair, and he fell asleep). His sister was shy, but she warmed up to me.
Kittens kittens kittens kittens!
Another animal observation: chickens have all the intelligence of a turnip, but none of the charisma.
Kittens!
… and here comes the old internet adage: “pics or it didn’t happen”
PS, the thread title reminded me of “Gorilla Gorilla Gorilla”
There’s always Badger, badger, badger to hold us over until the OP returns with pics.
Aw, sorry. I didn’t think to take a camera with me.
But they looked a lot like this.
This is true. Domestic turkeys are even dumber. And you thought that “turnip” was the lowest intelligence setting, right? Domestic turkeys have to be observed to be believed.
Kittens are generally not known for their brainpower, but at least they do have charm. I love it when kittens finally figure out that getting petted and gently scratched feels wonderful.
Actually, the chickens weren’t the dumbest animals there. The guinea fowl were.
Doctor Voodoo described how the guinea fowl would fly out of the coop to strach their wings. Then they’d try to get back in. Only, it doesn’t occur to the bird-brians to fly over the fence, the way they flew out. No, they attemtp to walk through the chicken wire, crying mournfully, until the doctor takes pity on them and opens the door for them.
Little kittens are uber cuddly due to (among other things) their need for body heat. I had one once that cuddled up next to my neck for blood warmth.
Not my kittens, but adorable nonetheless - The Itty Bitty Kitty Committee
My husband got his first very own kitten last year. I went to the Humane Society, intending to get another feline. My daughter had moved out and taken her two cats with her, and my cat was desperately lonely, and I like having more than one cat around. So, my husband and I went looking for cats/kittens. A young orange tabby and white kitten charmed my husband, while an adult orange tabby said that he would be happy to go home with me. My husband had always more or less put up with my cats, but he and this kitten immediately bonded. When we got the kitty home, the first thing that he did was explore the place and outrage my meezer girl, who wanted her OLD cat buddies back, thankyouverymuch. When he got tired, he climbed up on my husband, settled around his neck, and took a kittennap. For several months, when my husband sat down, his kitten took the opportunity to climb up and snuggle around his neck.
The kitten is a year old now, and doesn’t cuddle around Bill’s neck any more, but he still snuggles on Bill.
