Jeez, SCRIMMY, you may be new and all, but don’t compliment him (it?) by calling peace a “simian.”
SCRIMMY, no tricks.
“Standard”, like in “normal”, neither more nor less than described in Gray’s Anatomy (which appears to be a stardard ref here). Dictionary definition of “standard” will do, too. Wait, you are not a lawyer, are you? At least, not here? Because of the latter concern, I looked up your profile. Do you mean “deflorator” when you said “defenestrator” or do you fight MS?
Peace
a defenestrator is one who throws others out of windows.
jb
Are you sure, Jb? Sounds more like throufenestrator or viafenestrator would be it, but what do I know, with my ESL handicap.
Peace

Wow. This is the first time I’ve used my high school latin in ages!
jb
You are right. But let the man speak for himself.
Peace
Christ, this is odd.
I’ve seen peace make wild claims in GQ before, but as I’ve watched this unfold before my eyes, he just gets weirder and weirder.
The oddest part is, he doesn’t seem insulted, in the slightest by anything you guys say about him. He just takes it like the stupid kid in 5th grade who thought everyone liked him and didn’t ever realize he was being made fun of. Just sorta… laughs it off, bright and cheery eyed, while saying even curiouser and curiouser things.
This is all quite demented.

Bwahahahaha - I can feel a sig coming on : and will you people please stop having sticky sex???
Tim, you’ve put your finger on why this has attracted me like water to a ducks back (or something like that). I must admit, I’m drawn is a creepy creepy way.
It’s like shocking frogs with a battery charger.
jb
I assume you’re all intelligent enough to find the typo in the above post, so I’m not gonna dignify it.
jb
hoping there’s not a typo in the typo post
You know this whole thread is confusing. But the main thing I cannot understand is there is an implied contradiction. Namely, if peace implied that he/she/it is an MD then why would he/she/it state that credentials are not important later on?
So I guess my only question is “why”? Why do you either say credentials are not improtant and at the same time imply that you are in fact a physician? or Why do you troll? You have obviously read enough here to see how quickly people will ask for a cite or ask for a poster to ratify a statement with evidence and yet you intentionally make little vague and leading comments (I have to believe it is intentional, because grammar aside you aren’t an idiot). I have no advice for you because I frimly believe you don’t want any advice but I would like to ask to to at least cease the trolling. It just wasted bandwidht and illuminates nothing.
Hell I’m going to go right ahead and state that a lot of stuff I post has no real world meaning and my be insane (or inane depending on who you ask) ranting and posturing, but I would defend it by saying that it is at least me posting ideas and concepts. Be they valid in your mind or not. But when you simply pop in to a thread, ask a pointed question designed to irritate and not illuminate then you don’t even take the risk of being wrong you just throw sand into the gears. You remind me of the kind of kid who waits until someone is committed to jumping off the diving board and shouts “I peed in the pool!”.
Oh, you must mean duck’s…
HOMER: this MB is a lot of fun. I learn a lot here. So, instead of playing a role (of an ‘insulted’ one), I answer questions. Incidentally, tell me how to be insulted by images? I understand that real people are behind these handles, but I do not know them. Some of them seem to be carried away, they overplay the Net, think of it as of a real thing, but for me it lasts as long as I’m electronically connected. I may fantasize, etc., but I know the limits. So, with all my respect, I cannot be insulted by handles. I am sane.
ZEN101: because grammar aside you aren’t an idiot.
Tx, I know. I will break my own rules now and will state that you are. Judging from your posts. But I will answer your question about “credentials”:
Main Entry: 2credential
Function: noun
Date: circa 1674
1 : something that gives a title to credit or confidence
2 plural : testimonials showing that a person is entitled to credit or has a right to exercise official power
3 : CERTIFICATE, DIPLOMA
Those are the definitions from the MWCD on line. My WDT gives “a letter establishing the authority of the bearer”. Bearing these definitions in mind, tell me what exactly do you want me to do to PROVE to you that I am an M.D., claimed or perceived. But as a matter of fact, when I say “credentials do not matter”, I mean that even IRL, if we were discussing something eye-to-eye, and we both brought out gold sealed diplomas, it would not matter, because, as Carl Sagan said “Arguments from authority carry little weight (in science there are no “authorities”).”
Is it clear?
JbI’m drawn is a creepy creepy way
Is it similar to your attraction to Reprise?
Peace
Peace, nobody is asking you to prove you are a doctor. I repeat, NO ONE IS ASKING YOU TO PROVE YOU ARE A DOCTOR.
Zen101 certainly did not, nor did he/she ask you for a definition of credential. We all know what credential means. You ignored the question yet again.
The question (I’ll repeat it here because I know you don’t reread posts- hell, I often doubt you read them at all) was, you say having a degree is not salient or germane (look em up- you’ve got the dic) to web posting, but at the same time imply that you are a doctor. You have apparently gone to great lengths to impress upon us the fact that you are a doctor.
If being a doctor is unnecessary, why keep insinuating you are one (and don’t give me any “I didn’t insinuate nothing”)?
And an even bigger question. Remember NOBODY WANTS YOU TO PROOOVE THIS. Just to come out and say it one way or another.
Are you a doctor? Here in the U.S.?
thank you.
jb
p.s.- if everybody else could hold off on posting till this is answered, that would be appreciated. Don’t want the old bean getting confused or anything.
LMAO - I didn’t know you cared jb
I take it now would not be a good time to draw another ASCII nakey lady.
Damn, and I don’t know how to spell that “RRrrrggllllowowowow” noise. See?
jb
I had to laugh when I read Anth’s post, though. It just seemed like some kind of tongue-in-cheek jab at the most “innocent” of the mods.
Jb: I never said I was an M.D. Even you guys never accused of saying it. I was said **to imply[b/] it. Yet even that would be unfair. For instance, I never said: “Before I went to the medical school…” or “Before my license was revoked…”. Later, much later I said “my M.D./Ph.D. students…”. But teaching in a medschool does not imply being an M.D. So because I talked about medical topics at depth, the SDoppers decided that I was one. And then, when asked directly, I answered that on the Net, under the handle Peace, it did not matter, and that my arguments should not have carried more weight because I had a license. After all, a license is a legal document, allowing me to practice medicine in a given jurisdiction. It does not assure my infallibility. For instance, despite my degree, you think that I was wrong here most of the time and others, unlicensed, were right. So, you see that a degree does not assure having good brains.
REPRISE: Jb said that drunken bisexual Aussie was his dreamgirl. I noticed that (but did not care).
peace, you are lying again.
here’s what you said Peace
why we don’t believe it
later that same post
how you responded when people asked you if you were a doctor
Last post seems like some bad-faith posting to me.
