Who was hotter?
Born and raised in the San Gabriel Valley in areas with many Asian immigrants, it was nice to see Asian-American anchors on TV.
In the early 80s, I preferred Connie Chung since I watched KNXT/KCBS news more often. Then she left to do network news for NBC. In turn, Tritia Toyota went from local KNBC to KCBS, so I watched her more.
Looking at recent pics of both of them, they have both kept their attractive looks.
They have. Back in the '80s though, I thought Tritia Toyota was a little prettier. In actuality, I usually watched KABC. ‘From the desert to the sea, to all of Southern California, a good evening.’ (And I thought Dr. George was a hoot.)
I wonder how the song would go if The Dickies wrote one about Connie Chung?
And did Tritia Toyota ever sing about her and her husband having their cable TV show canceled like Connie did?
Toyota for hotness, Chung for gravitas as an anchor. Although neither one pushes my “hot” button at all.
I know that song by The Dickies. I never knew that Tricia Toyota was a real person. It totally sounded like a made-up name to me. (You learn something new every day. I better log off the SDMB today, lest I exceed my quota!)
Tricia Toyota.
And not just because the Dickies are punk rock GODS!
It might be made up. Ms. Toyota spells her name ‘Tritia’, and The Dickies spell it ‘Tricia’.
It’s a trick question. The correct answer is Kaity Tong.
Only… Why would L.A. Dopers know of her?
The answer is Sharon Tay.
