L4D2 on sale for $6 this week. Very active SDMB community.

I’d normally just stick this in the digital distribution sale thread, but this is kind of a big deal, both because of the crazy price and because we have a very large and active SDMB community for the game.

Left 4 Dead 2 is only $6.79. I thought I saw a reference to the sale being “this week” but I can’t find that again, so I’m not sure how long it’ll go, so act now. Or you can get it the bunbled with the original for $4 more. I normally don’t recommend getting l4d1 since 2 is better, but for an extra $4 it’s definitely worth grabbing to try the other campaigns.

We probably have 25ish SDMBers (I have 47 people on my friends list with the game, almost all SDMBers, but not all who play regularly) who regularly play together, and since the game just released free new content (a new l4d2 campaign, and making the no mercy campaign in l4d1 playable in l4d2, with l4d2 specials and weapons) it’s probably going to reinvigorate interest.

So if you’ve had any interested in the game (or even in steam more generally), now is a good time to get to it. If you’re interested in playing games with us (and we do everything), add me (SenorBeef) on steam to your friends list and I’ll invite you to our games or point you to any secondary games that might be going on. You should also join our SDMB steam group.

Also found out that they just released it for the mac too.

Sale ends in about 24 hours, 4pm PST tomorrow.

Pretty sure I can’t run L4D2 on my laptop but I jopined the SDMB group - thanks for the heads up

And to any on the fence but worried by lack of skill: Get the game anyway. I am absolutely horrid at FPS and this game as well, but they still invite me to play. Hey, someone needs to be the worst, and I am the best at it :wink:

I’m glad I caught this in time. I’ve been playing L4D 1.

$7 was cheap enough for me to get over my unhappiness with the way L4D1 was handled so I’ve finally picked it up.

Seems pretty fun so far, definitely worth picking up if you like shooting, zombies, shooting zombies, chainsaws, or cola.
